God I'm frustrated. Sure youre not going to sweep every series and we can still win it tomorrow. Its just annoying that we've yet to step up and act like a team that belongs in October. Step on some throats of weak teams. Quit struggling to score runs against bad pitchers on bad teams! We really had a chance to run away with this division the last few weeks but weve struggled almost as bad as the Angels and kept them in it.

The dudes just pressing. Trying to help a struggling offensive club is no easy task. He'll get it together. He has a history of being able to hit, unlike Marisnick.
With Carters dwindling playing time, what are the chances he's DFA in September? I feel as though both Luhnow and Hinch know its just a wasted roster spot at this point and they're about to pull the trigger...

It's a process of elimination for us now.
If we want Springer, McCullers and VV to be on the playoff roster, then we've got to add them before August 31st (except Springer. Guys on the DL aren't subject to this)
That means you're looking at 3 guys on the current roster that won't be on the 25 man in 3 weeks.
And then you get September callups. So here's how I see it going down...
Carter DFA will be the first shoe to fall. McCullers will take his place on the 25 man. This will happen before September.
Springer will activate probably right after September 1 so we don't have to send Marisnick down until the postseason (he will however be eligible for the postseason if we need him)
And then I think VV just stays down for the rest of the year. With LMJ back, one of our starters will head to the bullpen as it is, and I can't see us sending anybody from the current bullpen down.

The other option is to burn an option on Marisnick and keep Carter. Then after 10 days, Jake can come back and be a part of the expanded roster.
But even then, a corresponding move has to be made before September to get Lance eligible for the postseason

I think a player just has to be on the 40 man to be eligible for the postseason. There have been instances in the past where bt the lds and Lcs a team adds an extra hitter or pitcher.
