The further we stray from geographic based conferences the further we stray from God. There was nothing more fun than visiting your friends from high school for conference match ups only a few hours drive away to talk shite and get in fist fights with their frat bros over a football game. You're telling me some kid in Michigan is gonna have friends that go to University of Spoiled Children? This shite is getting fricking stupid and losing the point of what made college football great.

Lol. You all keep confusing eyeballs with subscription numbers. The former dwarfs the latter. It is absolutely about population.

no it doesn't.

Getting LA doesn't mean you are getting 15M subscriptions. You get the added subscriptions from people that actually want to watch their local football team. It does nothing to add an area like NYC if no one from there actually watches the games. Are you telling me that the BIG10 makes more money b/c they have Rutgers and NYC, as opposed to adding Notre Dame, who is already in the region?

Fox is making their money on primetime games where there's 10-15M viewers so they can charge more for commercials.
These games are on ABC and FOX. You don't need a subscription to anything to watch that.
a USC/OSU game in primetime on Fox, where USC is actually good, is going to make more money than every game that played on the BIG10 network that day.

10 of the 12 most watched games last year came from teams from the BIG10 and SEC, with Michigan and Alabama making up 7 of those. Baylor/OKST championship game and FSU/Notre Dame were the other two, and all were either on ABC or FOX

Interesting. Matchups with Nebraska, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, USC in a conference that actually has you play other teams in the conference - beats the hell outta being forced to play South Carolina for some reason every year.

Plus, we’d likely pick up lacrosse as a spring sport.
