No idea where to put this and it didn't deserve its own thread, but heavy rumors (from a number of insiders) out of Wisconsin this morning that Fickell will keep his job with an influx of $30M into the roster and assistant pool.
We'll see if this becomes truth, but initial reactions from fans isn't good.
Not to defend Fickell, because I, too, want him gone but his starting QB has started/finished just 11 of 31 games in his Wisconsin tenure, and they're down to a third stringer today against Ohio State. Totally bad luck but even with money, how do you convince anyone to go to Madison with so much instability?

I'm afraid Fickell is no better than a mid-major coach. He probably should’ve stayed at Cincinnati. For someone with a defensive background, his defenses haven’t looked very good. Maybe $30 million in roster upgrades would help, but Fickell just doesn't seem like the guy who can lead a big-time program to the next level.

Tend to agree. His pressers have been beyond sad. He is completely dumbfounded. Have you seen ticket prices for today's game against you guys? It's frightening how quickly this program has fallen. I'm not sure how much an influx of money can fix if Fickell is still attached. Fan apathy is at its worst in 40 years.
