But what about one loss UGA or Bama, or Clemson,Or Ohio St. or 1 loss Oklahoma?????

I literally said if it came down to LSU and Texas. Meaning the other teams aren't in the picture. Was that hard to comprehend?

We'll see. I'd give it to 12-1 UGA myself.

If our 1 loss is the SECCG we aren't getting in.

The point of the playoff and the national championship is to crown the BEST team in college football you ignorant piece of shite.

If Texas has 1 loss (which has already happened), it means they've beaten OU twice including for the Big 12 title.

if they beat OU twice then maybe OU isnt that fricking good.

LSU would have a road win at top 10 texas and two, possibly 3 top ten wins at home over AU, FL and A&M (if A&M climbs back) and 1 loss at #2 Bama.

you serious right now?

11-1? YOu realize there's a conf champ to be played right? A 12-1 Texas that won the big 12 by beating OU twice is in no universe being left home for an 11-1 LSU that didn't win their division.

Yes they would.

Our only loss would be to undefeated and #1 Bama and beat Texas at their stadium.

I think that trumps it.

12-1 Texas would have beaten OU twice. That's probably getting them in over 11-1 LSU.

Don't mind PEEJ.

I'll look for you here if it comes down to that after championship Saturday.

Maybe not, but you're getting in over Alabama IMO. 12-1 UGA is in over 11-1 Alabama.

You both play Auburn and A&M. You'll have a better win (ND) than Alabama would.

so angry for suggesting LSU may not be deserving

is that how it works? Well shucks, maybe texas isn't good? O

quote:

LSU would have a road win at top 10 texas

your best win. And Texas would have 2 wins that are equal or better

quote:

possibly 3 top ten wins at home over AU, FL and A&M

None of those teams will finish in the top 10. Maybe 1.

quote:

and 1 loss at #2 Bama.

and Texas's lone loss woudl be to super all-universe LSU, so the losses are equal

quote:

you serious right now?

Yes, I am serious that a 12-1 major conference winner with 2 great wins and no bad losses would go over an 11-1 non division winner.

Calm down dude.

12-1 UT, Big 12 winners, is probably going to get the nod over 11-1 LSU.

It won't come down to that.

Texas loses at least once to OU and ends up with 2 losses and a Sugar Bowl birth again.

I am going to guess Clemson, Bama, UGA, and OU.

and their only loss would be to a top 5 LSU.

But they would have 1 more win. And would have won their conference. And would have 2 wins over OU.

This isn't some kind of LSU hate campaign on my part, it's just logic and common sense. You can amke LSU's case all you want by saying "but but we beat them!" but you can't sit there with a straight face if you're the committee and tell a 12-1 Big 12 Champion texas that they aren't one of hte top 4 teams. It simply wouldn't happen.

why are you bringing up a game from last year that *literally* has nothing to do with the 2019 playoff discussion?

Oh, right...because you don't have any actual talking points to discuss. Carry on.

Because ive already explained to you how it works but your just dont get it.

Youre still salty about that arse beating.

Your mentality is how and why ND got in the playoff last year.

Playoff is for the best 4 teams in college football. Not most deserving and not the best resume. (although best resume usually includes wins over teams that prove a school to be, the best).

no you havne't. All you've done is repeat "but we beat them" while ignoring that they will have the better resume. Resume gets you in.

I'm not you dude. I don't think about 2018 since, ya know..it's in the past and doesn't matter to this season

come again? I dont' recall mentioning notre dame one single time. Perhaps you're confusing me with someone else

quote:

"best" is subjective just like the "eye test". What is far less subjective and easier to make comparisons is resumes

quote:

yep, good wins are a great measuring stick. And 12-1 texas would have as many or more than LSU. Know what else is a massive point on your resume? Winnign your conference.

I think its a toss up as to what the committee would do. On the one hand they would want to reward LSU for scheduling a tough OOC road game ( and want to promote more games like this). On the other hand conference titles are highly valued.

For what it’s worth some of the talking heads I’ve heard seem to think LSU would get in.

One thing for certain is both LSU and Texas would be sweating bullets on selection day.

Can anyone do the research starting in 2014 and tell us how many 1 loss major conference champions have been left out of the playoffs in favor of a 1 loss team that did not win their conference?
