It seems people on here expect the virus to disappear as the weather heats up (although in Australia it seems to be spreading more than ever), but I was reading today the virus won't really go away and within a year and doomsday scenarios expect approximately 70% of the population to become exposed to coronavirus (by being a variant of one of the common colds). My question is what is going to happen to college football later this fall when coronavirus comes back for round 2? My Bulldogs, if they beat Alabama are going to be #1 and it would be a shame for our season to get cancelled.

I go on a killing spree if I can't see Harbaugh at Washington in Seattle to open the season.

I’m guessing people will realize we just have to live with it like the cold and flu and things will just have to get back to normal.

Where did you read this from? The media who told people not to panic?

If things go like they have in most other countries with the virus, by the end of the next 4 weeks you will not be able to leave your home except for certain reasons such as groceries and work. Violating quarantine without a legit reason can result in a hefty fine or a prison sentence (depending on how bad things get). This is the reality in Italy right now. We have followed their trajectory exactly so far. If are quarantines are better enforced it may not come to this for most of the country.

The world needs this right now. Imagine if the whole planet can just come together to fight off this thing, you know? But we're going to have to take drastic measures to achieve a total shutdown

It's going to work its way through the population like all viruses of its type do. They are flattening the curve to allow for proper medical treatment and time to develop vaccines. The current measures will end before football season.

Do we really want college football without Joe Burrow?

With your defense? Little chance, ours held the historic offense of 2018 LSU tigers to 38 points, Alabama couldn't do that. You're underestimating our offense. It will improve with Jamie Newton at QB and Todd Monken as O.C.

Italy is somewhere between a first and second world country. It's a beautiful country but everything feels crowded, old and dirty. Its population density is 6x the US. The two countries won't experience the virus similarly.

The region hardest hit is most certainly first world. It’s affluent and has a medical infrastructure as good or better than ours.

Southern Italy, which in some areas is very second world, has largely been unaffected.
