I obviously love SGA as much as any poster you'll find here. However, looking at this trade as "JUST" PG is wrong.
Kawhi told the Clippers he would 100% sign IF the Clippers could get George. So the trade in principle was for Kawhi and PG. And pretty much every single NBA GM at the time would have made that deal 10/10 without even thinking twice.
Kawhi was coming off an NBA Finals MVP campaign. PG13, despite a shoulder injury, finished 3rd in both MVP and DPOY voting.
