Yeah, I was charmed back in the day. I worked at the post office in Salem and got off at 2:30 AM and always went to Springfield/Eugene for my two days off. I was still safer than most people on the road. Took me ten years to get a ticket but even then I was lucky. Cop got me doing 99 in a 60 near Tacoma but only wrote me up for 71 but since it was my first I took a driving class (guy let me skip out on being there for 8 hours and let me take the test home.. )

The stretch from Tacoma to Vancouver is a good one too. I remember driving the stretch from El Paso to San Antonia was crazy. I was doing 90 and was being passed up by truckers left and right.... There was a stretch from Kansas to Denver this lady in a Beamer and I were doing 120 for about 3 hours before a truck joined our train and five minutes later a highway patrolmen saw us (driving the opposite way) and whips a U turn in the grassy medium and pulled over the truck......

eta...my mom has a 2006 Porsche Carrera.....I would LOVE to get my hands on that thing. You can hit 90 before having to shift to third

I-5 south of Portland to Eugene is almost straight and flat. This have to lookout around Coburg and you are ok.

Harris just got unlucky and caught.

I remember they used to always sit there just after the bridge crossing the Mckenzie just past Coburg and before getting to springfield and you had no clue til you passed it up but since it has been redone it isn't the same hiding spot as it once was. Of course I never saw them in the middle of the night.

Not surprised....Cliff won't be with the team after this season, if not sooner.

He should've been suspended indefinitely after his violation before the LSU game

Why? He was suspended and hasn't played much at all since. I think Chip did fine.

I disagree that he got unlucky.

The state passed a much tougher law in 2006 and has been aggressively targeting drivers driving 100 mph and over.

LINK

I've been over 100 before, but it wasn't on I-5. It was out in the desert between Bend and Lakeview and I didn't see any other vehicles for 10 miles. I'm not crazy enough to try it on I-5. Not worth the fine. In the desert during the day where I could see for miles in all directions I was willing to chance it.

I wouldn't recommend speeding on I-5 in the valley. Not worth the fine.
