The No. 1 prospect in the 2021 class per the 247Sports Composite, five-star defensive end Korey Foreman, announced his commitment to Clemson on Sunday evening, one day after silently committing to the Clemson's staff while on campus for the Tigers' elite junior day.

frick you, Clay Helton

quote:

the Tigers' defensive line depth for the 2021 season -- if all else stays the same and there is no attrition/early NFL Draft entry -- would like this:
DE: Foreman, Denhoff, Xavier Thomas, Myles Murphy, K.J. Henry, Justin Mascoll, Logan Rudolph, Greg Williams

DT: Page, Bresee, Tyler Davis, Demonte Capehart, Tre Williams, Jordan Williams, Darnell Jefferies, Ruke Orhorhoro, Etinosa Reuben, Tayquon Johnson

That would be an unprecedented defensive line grouping in terms of recruited talent.

It's so crazy how much USC'S downfall has helped the other teams nationwide.

Clemson will not have 17 DL in 2021. That's just too many. Also Xavier Thomas has been disappointing thus far in his time there. Too soon to know for almost all the rest. Tyler Davis was pretty good as a frosh

Also, Page hasn't committed there

But yea, crazy stacked. I don't know half those names but that's cause I don't follow all team's recruiting. I know the really big names and there are a good number of them on there

This reminds me of back in the 2000's when USC had like 8 #1 recruit tailbacks on the roster.

And you're like, why the frick are they still signing, don't they want to play?

So why is Clemson getting all these guys who will be riding the bench for awhile?

How does Ohio State and Alabama get guys to wait their turn? Because they develop players.

California is ripe for the picking right now and the big name schools are cleaning up there.

I guess you can pretty much punch Clemson and OSU in the playoffs the next few years. At least the SEC should have some intrigue. Everybody else is fighting for the last spot.

I was listening to Steven Godfrey’s podcast. He went to the coaches convention and he said everyone was thrilled Helton was retained. It meant open season in Cali would continue lol.

Clemson’s DL this last year was the weakest of the Dabo era. It was a credit to Venables and our back seven that he ended the year with a top 5 D.

With the influx of talent and some seasoning of the current five stars, I expect a close to elite group by years end along the DL next tear. Also don’t underestimate how much having to play gap sound 3 tech limited the opportunities for our DEs like Xavier Thomas.

The 2021 DL will be sick but it probably won’t include Xavier Thomas.

The AAC have mastered the art of raiding elite P5 depth charts to dominate the G5 circuit.

Most of our coaches recruit solid 3* depth guys - and then wait for the elite bench players at P5 schools to get pissed off and leave.

The transfer market has done wonders for second rate FBS teams.
