That Stern interview was classic... It shows everything that makes Russo unique. He has the musical taste of a 60 yr old woman, the baseball and football knowledge of a 100yr old man.
He's clueless on so many modern things yet his level of expertise and historical knowledge of everything from Army football to the 1920s Philadelphia A's is incredible... But his biases of certain classic teams sometimes show. Anything regarding the NY Giants, SF Giants, Packers, Lakers, and Alabama football are all somewhat slanted.

Then today he was saying the Cubs offense isn't that good.
His take to open the show was awful

Yeah he clearly let his Giants fanhood really show today in that opening...he was probably very angry that his team he has rooted for since he was a boy was knocked out...he kept saying the Cubs arent a great team.

You can't get tied up in his specifics IMO. The general idea is that the Cubs are a good team in a bad league. No one will take a championship from them if they win it, but they're not an elite team historically.
I know this place has a lot of Cub fans but that isn't the most blasphemous thing I've ever heard.
