He may never equal the Laker's success when they had Magic....

But that's different from not ever being as good as him, the player.

It's not like Magic was a 1 man team or anything.

Yeah - I think CP3 would have a better shot at a title if he was playing with arguably the best big man of all time.

i want to see Paul do this a while longer before we toss around the Magic comparisons. This is what, Paul's 3rd year? Magic's 3rd year he nearly averaged a triple double, i think we are forgetting how he could dominate a game at nearly anytime, in nearly any aspect .....he just didn't have to all of the time b/c of his teammates.

Paul is the best PG in the game right now, but i'm not ready to go historical with him.

of course, this is all speculation right now. That's all we can do really because Paul has only played 3 seasons and 20 or so games

as 23 year olds:

Magic: 16PPG 10 AST 8 REB 2STLS 54%FG 80% FT

Paul: 19PPG 12AST 5REBS 2STL 50% FG 89% FT

Paul will never be the rebounder Magic was. Not with nearly 10" height differential. Can't really hold that against him. 5 boards a game is really fricking good for his size as is.

Paul rebounds well for his size, no doubt. But, when i start comparing all time greats everything matters....no excuses b.c someone is small. At this point, it looks like Paul's inability to rebound anywhere near as well as Magic, post up guards on offense, or defend large guards in the post may make it tough to make him as complete as Magic. But, Magic was just an absolute freak and no other PG in the history of the game measures up as of yet. Not a slam on Paul by any means.

yeah, I'm sure it's only NOLA fans who know about CP3

it's not like he was on team USA...wait.

it's not like he was an all-star...wait.

it's not like he just broke an all-time NBA record...wait.

he's pretty anonymous IMO

if he didn't have two white first names he might be less anonymous.
