It’s not the killer.

Players skipping the games for the draft ruin nearly every bigger bowl game but the Rose (whose prestige is still intact)

Forcing a G5 team into a “prestigious bowl”.

Elevating Cotton and Peach into “Prestigious Bowl” position. Both are good bowls, there are just now too many “Prestigious”.

The Fiesta still being a “Prestige Bowl” when it is usually the poorest attended.

The Big12, Pac12, and ACC being trash outside of 1-2 teams, and the SEC and B1G sending their non NY6 teams to play each other.

It's really been this way for some time. I went to the Mich vs Vir TEch game around 2012 or so and and it was half full. It was pathetic.
