Yeah, but to give you an idea of the level of competition, you're basically guaranteed a spot if you sign up. I used to play for the Reading Knights.

In fact I played in a 6-0 loss to the Destroyers. At one point our offense turned the ball over to them and they advanced it to the one yard line. Our D was so fricking good, that after 4 plays, they were at the 5 yard line and we got the ball back on downs. We played a 335.

We're stomping those mofos in the series since they couldn't read the road signs to come play us

A buddy of mine from my undergrad moved to Wales for grad school. He is on a team called the Cobras now. I'll try to get him on the board to talk about it.

I knew this was a big deal in Japan and Germany, but I had no idea that American football was in such an organized state over in Europe.

There is also a American Football World Cup. It is every 4 years and the last 2 were in Japan. I know the US won the last one, but Japan took us to overtime.
The next one is in Austria. LINK

ETA: After looking, apparently this already happened this year and the US won again

How does the USA find players to field a team?

They must be guys who played in high school but couldn't cut it in college.
