re: CFB bets week 9

I always look for the emotional aspect in a bet because CFB is so much about getting up for a game.
I call it the Notre Dame syndrome...when ND beat Florida State in the "Game of the Century" and then lost to Boston College at home the next week.
People are high on USC because "this is their bowl game" but forget USC is coming off of a huge emotional win against their big rival where they had to travel to Indiana. Stanford is the real deal and there's no being caught off guard with Luck.
Michigan State must be spent after a week of celebrating.

I've got no feel to this game, haven't capped it at all, and you may well be right?
But, for those considering laying it tonight, refer back to Hou @ UTEP(more formidable program than Rice), yet it another Thur-Fri tv game this year, another in-state Texas battle, late UTEP money near post-time, it came short.
College dogs finally barked for the BMs last Saturday, and the Weeknight/Thur-Fri dogs(especially home dog variety) going strong the last few weeks.
The Bayou Bucket city war, is full of kids that know each other well, played with/or vs each other for years as teens or at camps, and despite being given no chance to stay close by all the local media that cover them.. https://blog.chron.com/owls/2011/10/college-football-pick-em-bayou-bucket-edition/
Rice has decent QB numbers out of Nick Fannuzi since going to the Bama transfer last game, lowering the TOs made with McHargue, and have won two of the last three outright in the series.. Rice@Hou Gm Preview - Hou Chron
Even if a total mismatch, and now on the uptick from it's opening of 25, I'd bend over backwards looking for a reason to take a flyer on the dog getting 4 TDs, before laying it, albeit Houston having a landmark great season, and Rice being exceptionally weaker than even their norm.

Rice did beat them last year, even though half of Houston's starters were out.. like you said, in city battle. But Houston is still gonna put the points up tonight, if their defense shows up like they did for second half of Marshall last week they will be ok. But like SVP said, it all comes down to special teams.. wait.. what?

I'm not seeing anything I like tonight... May put down something small on UVA and the points or maybe a single team score just for kicks.

I just want something small to make it more enjoyable. Which is the better bet?
Tease UVA+20 with Iowa-10
Cardinals over 7.5

Problem is, 50-35 feels like what the score should/will be.

i agree, no chance i would take the under which is absurd. didn't oklahoma state hang 48 on someone by the half recently? kansas maybe?
eta: it was kansas. baylor's defense isn't a whole lot better either. could easily see okla st. score 60 in this one

You're only getting +5.5 for taking Zona against UW? Stanford's legit, UW ain't bad - Zona sucks.

UDubbs hasn't played anybody..ARIZONA has played a lot of tough teams really close. Although Washington is a hard place to play..It'll be close.

True, but UW is playing the arizona wildcats, NOT the arizona STATE sundevils.
Ariz has dumped Stoops as their coach. The wildcats are nowhere near as good as ASU.
