depends on how you feel about the game.
say u did 20 on a 3 team parlay, payout 120, you win the first to games but dont feel great about the final one. bet 50 on the other team straight bet ATS.
You either lose the parlay, and win the straight bet making you +30. (50 for the win - 20 lost parlay)
or you win the parlay and lose the straight bet +70 minus juice. ( 120 for parlay win - 50 lost straight bet)

Okay for example in a parlay I bet $10 to win $60 on LSU-4, Boise -20, and Wisconsin -17.
LSU and Boise both covered so all I needed was Wisconsin to cover to win my $60. However if Wisconsin didn't cover, I would win nothing.
Therefore in order to guarantee that I win money no matter what, I put a $20 bet on Norther Illinois +17. If NIU would have covered I would have won $20 and lost my $10 parlay. With Wisconsin winning, I won my $60 from the parlay and lost my $20 NIU bet.

i usually wouldn't do this but the spread is to good to pass up
