I am not an expert in statistics, so I invite comment from someone who knows what he/she is talking about. But I thought you can't take individual circumstances into account when you're running a statistical analysis. And if your sample is large enough, then anomalous cases will be taken care of by the sheer numbers. Did I say that right?

Sounds right to me. I took a statistics class in college, I don't remember much though

LSU only had 3 players on 2010 team with arrests
TCU had 0

Comapre those numbers to Pitt at 22

Good job LM and GP

Did anybody else notice that the blurry black and white B-Roll playing on the screen was the LSU/Bama game and then footage from an LSU practice?

Both good points. I watched the video on the story that was on The Today Show this morning. It paints this ghastly picture of the world of college football, but arrests of college students for DUI and possession happen all over the country. To lump every single arrest associated with a football program together, without regard to individual circumstances, is spinning the info to fit the argument.

Great post. Good to see someone who is able to cut through a lot of the bullshite you see in articles nowadays while too many people accept everything as fact.

None of these situations are good for a program and deserve punishment, but there aren't any worse kids playing football today than there were 20-30 years ago IMO.

This guy's response to the article basically says exactly that. And he breaks it down very well:

I searched and the only arrests that are creating any bad publicity for TCU at current are from 2006 arrests and the court case is to begin in May
