Cavs telling Jimmy Butler to stay away from Cleveland

I think a lot of this is a huge overreaction by the media. I don't agree with Griffin not getting a new contract, but Gilbert hasn't extended a single GM since he bought the Cavs. This wasn't anything new. For whatever reason, he's willing to pay a hefty luxury tax but not saddle up for a GM that proves his worth.
It's not like Griffin being let go suddenly changed the assets the Cavs have available to improve this team.
I saw Russillo tweet last night that his stance on the situation changed after finding more information out. Curious as to what that is.

Obviously, like all reports coming out this week, there's no reason to assume they're true, so I take it with a grain of salt.
But to try and make sense of this as if it is real, I really can't. The only thing I could possibly see is the "player" is LeBron, and he's giving Butler a heads up to not come because the organization is a mess, and he'll only be there 1 more year.
Think about it, what other player would possibly be telling Butler to stay away, and for what reason? Even if there was some dysfunction, you'd still feel like getting Butler would solve a lot of your problems, so it just doesn't make sense.
It's either a bogus report or LeBron telling him don't come because I won't be here after 1 more year IMO.
