I'm actually surprised Canelo didn't stop the guy in the late rounds. Charlo did better than I gave him credit for when this fight was first announced.
For a guy to jump 2 weight classes to take on the undisputed champion and survive against a known puncher with KO power is quite impressive to me.
I had no doubt Canelo would win, but not by UD, so hat's off to Charlo for making it 12 rounds.

I personally believe it says more about Canelo than Charlo. Canelo couldn't put him away when in the past he would've. Age gets to us all.

Well, it's not so much that Canelo is old chronologically, but as a fighter, he's had 64 bouts and he's only 33, so that's a lot of wear and tear when you consider the amount of miles run, rounds sparred, bag work, etc. he's done over all those years.
The good thing for Canelo is his mind is still clear and he seems sharp as ever as opposed to some fighters with long careers who develop pugilistic dementia and their minds get lost.
The guy really has nothing left to prove in the ring and if I were in his shoes, I'd live a nice life on the money earned in the ring and stick to his promotion side of the business.

charlo is the undisputed super ww champ. it has nothing to do with age....the guy is a good fighter that doesn't get KOd

I could see that happening, but I could also see him once again trying the Light Heavyweight division and taking on Artur Beterbiev who is about the same age as Canelo.
Artur has had only 19 fights, but all won by KO. He holds the IBF, WBC and WBO Light Heavyweight Belts. Like Bivol, I feel that would be a step too far for Canelo because Beterviev is a monster in the ring and obviously has the power to take opponents out.
