Guess you don't like yourself then.

Because you are calling me a liar and I'm not lying. Guess that make you a liar. And a weirdo. Like seriously. You seemed very disturbed. Like for real, not even kidding.

He seems to have disappeared for the moment. Probably looking for a thread where I claimed to be an international wealth fund manager (better chance of finding a unicorn, but maybe it will give him something to do).

And now maybe the thread can get back on track without captain physco.

so you ran under a 5 minute mile in middle school....as of 2010.

But now, in 2018 you never broke 5 minutes?

This is the problem when you just lie repeatedly. It's easy to see you are a liar.

Liar.

Not 6'7, but I am well over 6 foot.

5 minute isn't that fast. Yall are talking about it like its 4:30. If 8th graders who are naturally good at running but pre-pubescent can run near 5 with very little training, a young adult who is naturally good but has a few extra pounds can do it with very little training.

I am not positive I could do it right now because I don't know how the 20 pounds I've gained in the last few months plus frequent smoking would feel like if I tried to suddenly run fast. But there is a good chance. And certainly after a few training runs to get used to it.

I think he was trying to quote the guy above him wh was claiming to have run a 4.35, but failed to put the quotes in.

His post is a little further down, where he indicates he ran a 5:10-5:20.

And you’re coming off as slightly obsessed dude.

Holy frick! Just got back to this and see captain psycho has gone through tens of thousands of my posts back to 2010, lol.

And yeah, from that thread I was obviously quoting the other dude, then posted mine stats right after which was exactly what I said in this thread (about a 5:10 mile was my best and my best bench was a bit over 300, which was a max and my typical workout in those days involved 225x10).

So, I said the same thing 8 years ago I am saying today. I would call that pretty damn consistent. Why? Because it was true than and true now. Only difference is 8 years later instead of 225x10, it is 225x5 - I'm getting older :(

Guess I will look at the other links he posted. I can guarantee they have nothing to do with being an international wealth manager (I have a masters in tax from 2001 at AU and have been doing international tax for the past 10 years in Miami though).

Link 1 quote from me (2015):

quote:

As for my firm, frankly, the only reason they looked at me was because of my work experience which included a dozen years in the Big 4 along with several years of specialization in International Tax, some of the largest PE funds in the world as clients, and another very specific skill set. The degree always matters, but after a while, it is about your experience, who you have worked for and your career progression. My AU degree and masters got me started and its a great degree, but it took my experience and a strong interview to get my current position.

Uh, yeah, that is correct and I do not see any claim of being an international wealth fund manager, lol. Not even close.

Link 2 (2014):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

quote:

Not really. If they are successful individuals, they would be subject to the exit tax on their entire net worth which prevents a lot from doing so.

Additionally, they have to sign documents under penalties of perjury that they are 100% compliant on all income tax reporting including foreign assets for the past 5 years. Considering the IRS will find out if they are not starting next year (thanks to FATCA), they would really get fricked if they expatriated and signed documents under penalties of perjury.

Only people expatriating because of FATCA are the green card holders, dual citizens that already live over seas and the small fish that don't matter anyway. And even a lot of those are coming forward and paying several years of back taxes right now to get ahead of FATCA.

Here I am discussing the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, part of the HIRE Act signed in March 2010. While I could talk at length about FATCA and the son of FATCA CRS ("Common Reporting Standard), I do not see any reference to me being an international wealth manager. I can talk at length about FATCA or CRS for anyone interested.

Link 3:

quote:

Some interesting stuff here. Some seems overly optimistic, some makes sense.

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Median income would soar by more than $22,000. Nearly 26 million jobs would be created. The unemployment rate would fall to 3.8%.

Those are just a few of the things that would happen if Bernie Sanders became president and his ambitious economic program were put into effect, according to an analysis given exclusively to CNNMoney. The first comprehensive look at the impact of all of Sanders' spending and tax proposals on the economy was done by Gerald Friedman, a University of Massachusetts Amherst economics professor.

Friedman found that if Sanders became president -- and was able to push his plan through Congress -- median household income would be $82,200 by 2026, far higher than the $59,300 projected by the Congressional Budget Office.

In addition, poverty would plummet to a record low 6%, as opposed to the CBO's forecast of 13.9%. The U.S. economy would grow by 5.3% per year, instead of 2.1%, and the nation's $1.3 trillion deficit would turn into a large surplus by Sanders' second term.

Looks like I posted an analysis of Bernie Sanders economic plan back in 2016 and said it appears to be overly optimistic.

Ok, I'm lost now, I am not sure what this nutjob is trying to prove anymore?

Disagree and a sub 5 min mile requires as much speed as endurance.

My slow arse was under 5 by sophomore of high school, and I have never been a good miler.

bullshite. I was the best at the mile in my highschool of about 1,000 and I never got under 5 min. And I'm not sure if anyone in any of the dozen or so track meets I ran in got under 5 minutes until the first regional meet at year end where 3 or 4 ran sub 5 (I ran my best time ever of 5.08 at this meet).

Cool, I guess your high school sucks at distance running. My high school had over a dozen kids break 5 my freshmen year, and I only ran 5:03.

quote:

I bet it would win 95% of high school track meets during the season and before regionals.

I ran in Georgia and I now coach XC and distance in my spare time, so I can assure you this is not even true unless you are bumblefrick nowhere. You are out of your depth, mate.

Eh, it was the mid-90's and yeah, mostly smaller rural high schools north of Birmingham, with 90% whites at the meets. I think our track team had about 12 people on it. And I can assure you a sub 5 min mile won 95% of those meets.

I think the context is you are running against small schools in a very poor distance running state. Metro Atlanta is very mediocre, but it blows that out of the water.

Go to CA, IL, NJ, WI, NJ, etc. and those times will blow you away.
