Obviously either Quin Snyder or the Phoenix coach will win it, but is it even within the rules for an interim coach to be the coach of the year?

Because Nate McMillan makes a strong case.

Hawks were 12-19 in games coached by Lloyd Pierce.

They are 22-8 in games coached by McMillan

Yes, interim and acting head coaches are eligible for coaching awards.

Schlenk should get some Exec of the Year mention.

- His veteran FA pickups have pretty much all worked (especially Bogdanovic), and he turned his biggest “miss” in Rondo into Lou Williams

- got Capela for not much of anything (technically a trade from last year, but he didn’t suit up until this season... he’s almost another FA pickup)

- fired Pierce (which wasn’t exactly popular) and replaced him with Nate (who was a great pickup as a lead assistant)
