He says that they should take away the American League and National League and put them all under the same name, the MLB.

He says to contract two teams, so we would be down to 28. Then, every team would play ever other team three times at home and three times away.

He got rid of the Marlins and the Rays, and said a decision would have to be made on the DH, whether to keep it or not.

His divisions... four 7-team divisions

Orioles
Yankees
Red Sox
Mets
Phillies
Nationals
Blue Jays

Diamondbacks
Angels
Dodgers
Athletics
Padres
Giants
Mariners

Cubs
White Sox
Reds
Indians
Brewers
Twins
Pirates

Braves
Rockies
Tigers
Astros
Royals
Cardinals
Rangers

He says they would be regional divisions, which would make traveling easier. So it keeps the Rangers from having to be in the west even though they are in the central part of the US, and so on.

But this makes no sense because you are going to be playing all of the other teams the same amount of times. So I don't get it.

Terrible idea. You fail Buck.

i agree what a shitty idea. and why get rid of marlins and the rays. so shitty, they are two good teams. get rid of two teams that aren't worth a shite. why doesn't get rid of the pirates or the nationals. piece of shite.

The A's and Rays should go IMO. But if you were going to take one from each league it should be the A's and Nationals.

Yet, he puts the Rockies in a division with a bunch of teams from the central and eastern time zones.

I'm all for a realignment but don't think Florida should lose both teams. Plus the Cards should be in the same division with the White Sox and Cubs since STL is close to Chitown, good for the teams and fans. You can also throw the Royals, Twins and Brewers in that division.

The other three divisions are perfect. So I think it's obvious that he did the other three first, and then just had 7 teams left over and was like frick it.

But under this plan, each team plays every other team 6 times in a year, so it really doesn't matter.

Agreed, so to fix it, he should contract the Rays and A's, put the Rockies out west in the A's place, then put the Marlins in the East where the Rockies currently are.

Exactly, so having fricking regional divisions makes no fricking difference anyway.

So what about the all star game?
US vs. World?

Idk that would be sweet.

ETA: this was clearly just a filler on baseball tonight.

The unbalanced schedule is the only fair way to determine a division winner. Over the course of a baseball season, if you play a team 15-18 times, the better team will end up winning most of those games. But if you only play a team 6 times, the time of the year each team happens to play each other could make a big difference in the outcome. For example, team A could play team B 6 times in April when team A's best hitter and best pitcher are on the DL, but team C could play team A 6 times in September when those players are back healthy. If you play 18 times spread fairly evenly throughout the year, this can be avoided most of the time.

World would own US in all-star game, I am not sure they have enough roster space for everyone one that could be on World team.

Well, unless they are idiots two teams would never play each other within a 2 month span.
