Favre was one tough follower

went to rehab 3 times

at one time, he took 14 Vicodin in one sitting

he was also an alcoholic, being admitted in 1998 for over drinking

As a Saints fan, it kind of makes me mad that Ricky Williams was suspended for an entire season for weed. yeah, he had multiple attempts, but I'm talking about the principle here. The NFL teams pushed prescription opioids on their players for years. This is viewed as criminal behavior, folks.

Brett Favre...the pill popping, alcoholic, dick pic sending HOFer.

14 Vicodin is a lot but its not that crazy for a pill abuser. Tolerance builds fast and Vicodin isn't that strong

edit: say they were just 5mg Vicodin.. that's only 70 mg and not a lot at all for someone who ends up in rehab.

Was Ricky Williams suspended as a Saint? I don’t remember that.

no, it was well after. And, like I said, he had much time to fix his situation.

The most hypocritical old fat conservative theme is getting hammered on booze and pills, while clutching their fear of weed

I'll go one further. their wives would also take their either overprescribed or "swapped" prescription opioids and then go pick up their kids from school.

Then they'd kill somebody and later get off with a home probation order.

No, his first suspension was right after he joined the Dolphins, then again in December 2003, then right before it was going to be announced he failed a third he announced he was "retiring" in August of 2004

Glad he helped himself when he did and it didn't irreparably derail his career though the dick pic situation was low and surreal and corresponded with one of the greatest regular season collapses in NFL history. When Favre was at his peak (mid-1990s, 2009), no quarterback in NFL history was better or more prolific, when at his lowest, no one was lower. Dude enjoyed an interesting career no doubt.

I’m just confused what being a Saints fan has to do with it. It didn’t have any effect on the Saints.

I don’t disagree with your OP and the idea that they funneled pills into these guys. The whole country was doing that at the time, not just athletes. We have since learned how bad that can be.

right. it's a crying shame what some people can get away with when something is a societal norm. years before that it was cigarettes. before that, drinking and driving.

While I agree with the term "you live you learn", I do not agree with many of these same people criticize and condemn people today for drug dealing (and such) when it was "everyone does it" while illegally trading pills between family members in 1995.
