Providence should be in IMO, beat Cinci twice, beat Pitt, and are 9-7 in the BE
Posted on 3/2/09 at 8:02 pm to Esarhaddon
I agree on Providence. Admittedly, I may have them slightly overseeded at 9 (they were a true 10 on my list but had to be bumped up), but I think they will make some more noise and earn that seed.

Oklahoma State comes up big tonight. They are on a roll. They are likely in now.

Oh yeah. I got a conference tourney thread lingering somewhere down there I'm sure you're all about.
And G'Town is finally, officially dead barring a 5-game sweep in New York.

Wow, HUGE win for us.
Posted on 3/3/09 at 10:12 pm to Buckeye Fan 19
Buckeye, it would have been a pretty big drop, but I would have dumped OSU out had they dropped that one. That's not a loss you want on your résumé this late in the season. I'd still be worried, though.

BTW, New Mexico making me look good for putting them in by beating Utah to go tied for the Mountain West lead.

Bracket projections after Tuesday, March 3
NOTE: The last five in may not appear as such in the seedings, but teams had to be moved around on seeding lines and locations for logistical reasons. For example, New Mexico was an 11 on my board, but got moved to 12, swapping with Penn State. Florida State and Gonzaga also flipped.
Projected Auto Bids are in CAPS.
NOTE: UCLA is NOT the projected winner of the Pac-10.

Well, the SWAC is definitely going to represent in Dayton. The MEAC's highest rated team is indeed Morgan State and they're far back, also. I do recognize that Al Sharpton may not like this.

I hope I can keep up from day to day now that we've entered crunch time. Not much change in the South bracket, but a good bit in the Midwest and East for me. It still baffles me how Lunardi has compiled some of his crap.
For instance, he now projects Creighton as an at-large. He had Creighton for a few weeks as the auto bid projection, but realized he could devise a way for two Valley teams in by projecting Northern Iowa in. I'm not sure Creighton could stand on their own. Virginia Tech still in? Please.

Northern Iowa will NOT get an at-large bid. There's just no way. 10 other teams in front of them. I dunno what Lunardi is thinking either.
The only thing that changed for me is I upped Okie State to an 11. I'm keeping KSU in for now. Maryland could have had their spot...they blew it.
VT is history like Notre Dame and USC are. Just not enough.

Well he has Creighton as the at-large, and UNI as the auto bid. I don't think either can stand alone. Creighton is a good team, but their only quality win is against Dayton. Even at 25-6, this year's Missouri Valley isn't enough to justify it.

Gotya...Creighton has a better shot as an at-large, but I still say NO. They didn't play what Maryland and Notre Dame played all season.
Posted on 3/4/09 at 12:42 am to PiscesTiger
I goofed. They also beat New Mexico. Still doesn't get them over the hump. He so badly wants to punish the SEC, and I'm not sure why. First of all, Kentucky would be out before Florida, and Kentucky certainly should be on the bubble if Florida is.
Posted on 3/4/09 at 12:47 am to PiscesTiger
I don't know if the committee would allow what I have going on in Dayton. Damn, that would be an off the fricking chain environment to be in. Maybe too buckwild.
