i completely disagree. i think us beating them with griffin in the finals is what would do it for us.
fwiw, that was simply a prediction/what i want the seeds to be, not what they are today or what they are gonna be. however, if kansas wins out and beats oklahoma, itll be very tough not to give it to them. in saying that, i dont think they get it

I'm once again going to have LSU getting shippped out west...as a 3. Damn pods. I tried to justify some other scenarios, but just couldn't. We are closer to Portland than Clemson.

Perhaps the biggest Big Monday yet tomorrow.
Nova-Notre Dame. I know there have been more high-profile games, but Notre Dame is clawing their way to trying to get a bid, and Nova wants two byes at MSG in a bad way, and a top 4 seed.

And I would love a rematch with Xavier, FWIW.
if the bracket played out the way you have it right now that would be fantastic. id love a xavier rematch too, and duke would be a very winnable game. pitt would be able to name their score most likely, but an elite 8 trip would be awesome.
i assume you are predicting lsu to win the sec tournament with this, right? i see you keep moving them up slowly, if they do win out are you absolutely sure a #2 seed isnt possible? i know this is a big if, but what if lsu wins out and:
- duke loses to unc, wf loses to clemson, mich st loses to purdue, and all 3 teams lose in either the first or second round of the conference tournament, and
- memphis somehow loses a game
still no shot at a 2? other than memphis losing a game i dont think the other scenarios are that far fetched.

pisces, with LSU's meteoric rise in the polls, you have to admit we are now capable of getting a #2 seed if we win out as vegas will probably expect us to...gonna be tough as hell but we can do it!

Posted on 3/2/09 at 1:34 pm to LSUzealot
LSU won't get a #2 seed and honestly LSU doesn't deserve a #2 seed.
Posted on 3/2/09 at 1:41 pm to LuckyLee
i'm sure you do think that since one of our 4 losses came to the shittiest team in the SEC

3 at best

Any objective human being would think that LSU doesn't deserve a #2. Beating mediocre teams is only worth so much. It's not LSU's fault that the SEC sucks, but that's just the way it is. In reality, LSU is probably as good as a team like Syracuse.

i'm not objective. i think we deserve it. also, who can forget bruce pearl's reaction to their #2 seed back during our final 4 run...it can happen
Posted on 3/2/09 at 1:58 pm to LuckyLee
they could get a #2 seed, but really wouldnt deserve it. It would be soley based on the W-L record and us winning the weak SEC

not our fault the SEC sucks arse...this is almost like utah in the championship game argument...based on watching them play i would have said no but they came out & proved yes against bama
based on watching LSU play & watching other conferences play, i would say yes LSU deserves at #2...we are very good
Posted on 3/2/09 at 2:07 pm to LSUzealot
I never said it was our fault the SEC is bad.
We have pretty much lost to the "best" teams we have played, and don't even have a "signature" win on our resume'.
It would be awesome if we could a 2 seed though. I just think its unlikely, but you never know.

Don't let the polls skew your understanding of how the selection process works. A lot of numbers go into play in that room, and the polls are not one of them. It is why Gonzaga, a few years back, was ranked in or near the top 10 and got a seed somewhere in the 6/7 range if I remember correctly.
LSU would not deserve any higher than a 3 based on any reasonable projections at this point in time. However, things do happen when conferences congregate on one stage to duke it out.

I'm not sold on the SEC being "bad". UT beat Marquette and UF beat Washington. SC beat a very hot, at the time, Baylor team. Arkansas beat OU and Texas.
I think the league is not great, by any stretch, but it's a pretty young and up and coming league. Also, keep in mind that Ole Miss was injured all season and Auburn didn't gell until February.

just a few singular wins though
none of those teams are an NCAA shoe in at this point though.

The SEC is terrible outside of LSU. There's really no other way to spin it.
