I basically agree.

IMO, it's just so close right now in the Big 10, it's really hard to project who will be in and out. Supposedly, the committee does not look AT ALL at conference affiliation (i.e. we have 7 Big 10 teams in, the conference isn't worthy of 8, so we're not going to put in the eighth, even though they have a good case). I could see all of those teams making it. I wouldn't even be shocked if NW makes it as an at-large, if they win out in the reg season and win at least two conference tourney games.

One other thing I noticed, is that of the 5 teams you listed, the two with the highest number of QW's (OSU and Wisky) have the most amount of quality wins, but the other three, while having the lower amounts, looks like the wins that are there are better. Wow.

Can we now say Nebraska is officially out, unless they pull off an unlikely miracle and win the Big 12 tourney?

Yep. They'd have to win the Big XII Tourney.

Just a horrible second half tonight. Doesn't help that Dagunduro had 4 fouls with 15 minutes left to go in the game. At one point, NU had 3 turnovers in just over a minute.

Tough one to swallow. I thought this year could finally be the year the Huskers make the dance.

Wow, I missed a lot being gone for a few hours. So much good discussion, but I think Pisces handled well. I disagree with having Ohio State out at this point. They're slipping hard and fast, but not out quite yet.

ETA: I'm glad it's your projections on the front page and not mine so I don't have to sit here and defend myself. I just offer a different perspective and join the fun.

You would wait for right at 12 to post that.

ETA: Well, I did the same for the "Daily Olympic Thread" back in Aug (remember that, Kige? It was me, you, and basically one other poster, can't remember who, though, that started those threads each night. Good times. )

It was actually a lot of fun to watch. There was a long thread every day (usually went 30+ pages, most of the pages were at night during the primetime events, like swimming, gymnastics, track, b-ball, etc, but some of the pages were during the day for the lower prestige events), so that was cool. I hated the Chinese gymnasts. Of course, the judging screwed us.

Good win for Louisville. Marquette, as I expected, played incredibly hard without Dominic James. Louisville continues to stay locked in on the 2 seed line, while Marquette is going to drop a couple after the losses and the injury.

Louisville beat Pitt and Pitt will lose to UCONN again. That is why the Ville should have the 1 seed wrapped up.

Lots to update.

I projected UF to handle biz today and then win the SEC Tourney, being that they're in Tampa/St. Pete. Now, I think UT has solidified themselves and UF vs. UK is now a one game playoff for s spot in the dance...both won't get in.

I'll update tonight. And yeah, Kansas playing for a 1 seed now.

I think UF is a really mediocre team. They have 1 player, that's it. Now he's a damn good player, but it's still not enough.

A couple of things to note:

Two teams badly hurt themselves this week: Siena and Utah State. Both suffered losses in conference play, and both now need to win their conference tournaments.

I agree with Pisces that UF vs. UK is a likely play-in game for the tournament, barring a run by either one or both in the SEC tournament.

The most vulnerable 1 seed remaining is Pitt, and they have a tough game or two remaining. Louisville and Kansas are in the hunt, and Memphis as well.
