t's possible, if Oklahoma or Pitt slips again, but Memphis, I think, would get a 1 seed before Louisville at this point, painful as it may be.
if uofl wins out and pitt beats uconn, thus giving the cards the outright big east title, i see no way of having both uconn and pitt ranked ahead of uofl

Just to let you know, you should probly put Clemson lower
I did lower them to a 4. They deserve a 4. They've been in the top of the best basketball conference all season.
I'm not going to punish them based on history. They were a top 10-12 team for much of the year.

OU
Kansas
U Conn
Pitt
L'ville

I know. I'm just saying that if you're projecting, then maybe they should drop to a 5. But I see your point.
Posted on 2/28/09 at 7:09 pm to BayouBengals03
And i see yours, but yeah...my projection is that they're a 4. I had them at a 3 much of the last two weeks.

pisces...still a 5-seed? no love man
we are a 4-seed at worst IMO

Dunno about that. Even if LSU wins out, they're still a 3 max.
Posted on 2/28/09 at 7:35 pm to LSUzealot
what if we lose @ Auburn and then don't win the SEC tourney?
Posted on 2/28/09 at 7:37 pm to PiscesTiger
I wanted to move us back to a 4 and I did. I guess I am gonna ge on bayoubengal03's tip about Clemson choking down the stretch. They did lose today.
I had LSU as a 4 last week, too. I moved them after hearing so many bracketologists "mehhhhing" them. I agree...we deserve and should get a 4.

then a 5 is likely but at this point we can't predict that...most likely scenario is win out IMO based on our performance this year...we are clearly the class of the SEC
Posted on 2/28/09 at 7:44 pm to LSUzealot
check it again...we're a 4.
Man, it's tough work having to swap everyone around. I'm currently trying to figure out what to do with Purdue.

After more review, I have replaced with Buckeyes with Oklahoma State. The Cowboys got a big win today over Texas and the Buckeyes, meanwhile, are not ending the season on a high note.
What teams like Ohio State, UK, VT DON'T need:
Creighton to not win the MVC tourney...they are likely an at-large
New Mexico or SDSU to win the MWC tourney
Siena and Niagara to both get in
Notre Dame to get hot and get deep into Big East tourney

I'm gonna be pissed if UK's picked over us, especially since they were last year, when they shouldn't have been.

We beat ND on a neutral floor, so if they're on the bubble, we should get in over them, IMO.

THE GREAT BIG 10 DEBATE
3/5 teams are going to get in, IMO...without putting down rpi's and sos's, I will let you decide by looking at qw's and losses
team 1 - Minnesota (20-8, 8-8)
QW's:
Louisville
North Dakota State
Ohio State
Penn State
@ Wisconsin
Illinois
QL's:
Michigan State
Purdue
@ Ohio State
@ Michigan State
@ Penn State
@ Michigan
@ Illinois
Last 10: 4 wins 6 losses
team 2 - Penn State (20-9, 9-7)
QW's:
Purdue
Michigan
@ Michigan State
Minnesota
@ Illinois
QL's:
Rhode Island
Temple
@ Wisconsin
@ Minnesota
Michigan State
@ Michigan
Wisconsin
Purdue
@ Illinois
@ Ohio State
Last 10: 6 wins 4 losses
team 3 - Ohio State (18-9, 8-8)
QW's:
@ Miami
Notre Dame
Butler
@ Michigan
Michigan
Purdue
Minnesota
Penn State
QL's:
West Virginia
@ Minnesota
@ Michigan State
@ Illinois
Michigan State
@ Wisconsin
@ Purdue
Last 10: 5 wins 5 losses
team 4 - Wisconsin (17-10, 8-7)
QW's:
@ Virginia Tech
Green Bay
@ Michigan
Penn State
Illinois
@ Penn State
Ohio State
QL's:
U Conn
@ Marquette
Texas
@ Purdue
Minnesota
@ Illinois
Purdue
@ Michigan State
Last 10 - 5 wins 5 losses
team 5 - Michigan (18-11, 8-8)
QW's:
UCLA
Duke
Illinois
Penn State
Minnesota
Purdue
QL's:
Duke
Maryland
Wisconsin
@ Illinois
Ohio State
@ Penn State
@ Ohio State
@ Purdue
@ U Conn
Michigan State
Last 10 - 5 wins 5 losses
VERSUS EACH OTHER:
Minnesota is 3-3 vs. other four
Penn State is 2-5 vs. other four
Ohio State is 4-2 vs. other four
Wisconsin is 4-1 vs. the other four
Michigan is 2-4 vs. the other four
Minnesota has 20 wins and has an impressive win over Louisville. They are struggling down the stretch after a very impressive top 10-like start. Magic number - 22 wins. Will they get it? Yes.
Penn State has quietly gotten 20 wins, but they own zero OOC quality wins. Impressive road wins at MSU and Illinois, but 5-10 vs. the top 50 are the biggest weighing factors. Magic Number - 23 wins. Will they get it? Yes.
Ohio State is 8-7 vs. top 50 opponents and 2-4 vs. top 25. They've often been one of the better looking teams, but have also been blown out by WVU and Purdue. Injuries have also hurt the Buckeyes. Magic number - 20. Will they get it? Yes.
Wisconsin is 7-8 vs. the top 50 and 1-7 vs. the top 25. Strong lately, the Badgers had a horrible January going 2-6. They've been 5-1 since then. A stingy defensive club, the Badgers have defined inconsistency and have not been superbly strong at home like they usually are.
Magic number - 20. Will they get there? No (19).
Michigan is the team that makes you scratch their head. Having played Duke twice and split, along with a big win over UCLA, Michigan has also won some impressive conference games. Michigan, however, has won all of them at HOME. 0-5 vs. top 50 teams on the road, the Wolverines cannot rest their heads on a bed of home wins only. Magic number - 22. Will they get there? No (20).

You're right Buckeyefan...and check out my big 10 breakdown above. Look ok?

Can we now say Nebraska is officially out, unless they pull off an unlikely miracle and win the Big 12 tourney?
