WHY??? He was WAY ahead of his time when he played. I could care less what he has done since.

If you want to call it the best FOOTBALL player between the two its not EVEN close. ITS BROWN.

I'm not the one who did the show. Sport's Science did and it's 2 athletes, not football players.

There was a thread not too long ago about the Greatest American Athlete of All Time. I am just making sure.

Where do I start? Jim Thorpe, Pele, Usain Bolt, Rafer Johnson, Lionel Messi, Bruce Lee, Carl Lewis....I just think it is a lot harder to pick out of these studs. Writing "Bo Jackson /thread" is just stupid.

I understand. But the answer to the OP is BO and its NOT even close...........Brown was a freak when he played. Kinda like WILT. But overall.......BO is the GREATEST ATLETE EVER.

Jackson is a better athlete; Brown was a better football player.

Honestly, I would've put Deion Sanders ahead of Brown as far as pure athleticism goes.

Finally. Ok, so you think Carl Lewis, Bruce Lee, Bolt, Messi, and Johnson are better athletes than Bo Jackson or Jim Brown? Jim Thorpe is a good choice. He was in the playoff brackets.

I think you can make a strong case for ANY of them.

He was on there, don't remember who he lost to. Sanders is definitely an all-time athlete. I'm not saying Jim Brown was better, but doing these cross generation type comparisons is impossible.

Not sure if you can. Bo Jackson played professional ball at an elite level in 2 major sports. Did any of these guys do that? Carl Lewis was in the playoffs and I can see him being up there for sure. But Bruce Lee? Bolt?

Make your case.

You don't have to be incredibly athletic to play baseball.

Olympian. I think that's what you're missing. The guys on this show were mostly pro athletes.

eta: You'll notice I was mainly questioning Lee and Bolt and maybe someone else..

If those are the only choices, I go with Bo Jackson because we know he could play multiple sports well. Neither is the greatest of all time though.

I have heard of guys like that. Rumor is they post in masses on the OT.
