From my understanding hand is considered ball and you can touch it. It's just not called that way.

bro, once the ball IS IN THE AIR, the shot isnt changing. you would have to touch the ball again to affect its flight. do you think there is some invisible aura that exerts a physical force on the ball around your entire hand without touching you touching it?
