I can still remember getting this game with a dreamcast one Christmas. This game blew my mind

although the stiff arm was basically unstoppable

I remember being able to stiff arm like five guys in a row in this game.

This game was also the last time the Jaguars had like a 95 rating in any football game ever again.

That's the one with Dick Enberg, right? I remember James Thrash for the Redskins being unstoppable...James freaking Thrash.

I remember getting Gameday '98 and Madden '98 for my B-Day that year. Gameday was better for playing your friends, and Madden was better for season mode. Gameday was better for running (I'd wreck shop with Bettis and then sneak the occasional pass to Yancy Thigpen), and Madden was better for passing.

Playing nba and nfl 2k on dreamc ast with the dial up online play was likeba dream come true to me. It blew my mind to be playing someone across the country. Every game droppedbout though.

I loved the dreamcast. .but how could they over look their games being able to be burned

Man frick ea for cockblocking 2k like that

They came upwith a better gameplay/graphics/featured and everything for half the damn price

Can you imagine where wed be right now if 2k never had to stop production on NFL games?

yeah, playing Madden was addictive as hell (I played 2k some also though, I liked it just as much). I'd always end up playing it at a fricked up time. When ever the Ritalin/Adderall would kick in, I'd be on those damn games for a few hours.

it sucked because I took those to help me study for school.

Fiedler wasn't horrible, Chris Chambers was a good WR on there so it kind of help to balance things...

I swear I think my record stayed at about .500 though.

What has Barry been up to since retiring? You really don't hear much of anything about him.

He did just what we wish all of our childhood hero athletes would do: he disappeared into oblivion and left us with only memories of his greatness.

Not a washed up second stringer in Zona or a bumbling idiot pre-game shows

This is not entirely the case, the NFL offered Sega Sports the same opportunity to acquire the NFL license.

They just didn't have the deep pockets Electronic Arts did.

Swag dream casts nfl 2k had a randy miss flaw.

A throw down the sideline to miss was almost a guaranteed completion. Always one handed catch too.

NBA 2k was amazing too, but the spin move was basically the equivalent to NFL 2k's stiff arm.

still, those both were game changers
