Just in case some missed it in last night's game thread:

quote:

#Braves' Ronald Acuña Jr. on the status of his knee: “It’s terrible. We’re just going to play through it until the season’s over.”

This was taken out of context by DOB strictly for clicks. Acuna was laughing when he said that. Here is the video of the interview:
Acuna

DOB sucks.

Literally everyone ran with it.

DOB is a hack, but you singling him out when everyone tweeted it out when Acuna said it is weird.

Also, laughing or not, it's clear that his knee isn't right and that he is hurt. It's relevant information, regardless of how it was presented.

When Ozzie comes back and if Grissom looks remotely competent in left, I think Acuna is going to DH a good bit more often the rest of the way, and I wouldn't be against it.

Has Rockies lineup been published? At work and haven’t had time to research. I am thinking 10 k for Strider

I'm pretty confident that from this point further, Acuna will be DHing more than he plays the field... and a lot more at that. He has not looked sure of himself in RF all season long.

Mets just took a 3-2 lead on the Dodgers in the 7th.

Mets now up 5-2 now on a bloop single on an error.

Very disheartening that the best we can do is keep pace with the Mets while they played the Dodgers and we played the Rockies.

I'm watching Gwinnett's game for Albies (He is DHing and grounded out to the mound in his 1st AB), but Ian Anderson is pitching and he is already at 30 pitches with 1 out in the 2nd, so that hasn't changed in case anyone was wondering.

Mets win! Take 2/3 from LAD. Rough stretch coming up with Washington, Pittsburgh, Miami, Chicago (NL), and Pittsburgh again

He's not missing bats there either. That's not a great sign.

What's an even worse sign is that he doesn't seem to be even trying to work on a curveball. You're in fricking AAA dude, who cares about the game result, try something different.

He's getting shelled right now.

Strider, on the other hand, is missing plenty of bats. That slider just exploded. Good lord.

Ehh, Mike Maroth has a great track record. He has fixed a lot of our struggling young pitchers before. I trust him to put together a plan to fix Ian. It'll be up to Ian to do it.

Not much you can do if you're working with a guy who only has 1 and a half pitches.

Snit is tearing up talking about telling Francoeur and McCann they had been called up to the majors. This is a really cool interview.

That was a really good interview.

Also, Ian at 70 pitches thru 4 innings.

We're making Chad Kuhl looking like a fricking ace right now, not a dude who has an ERA over 6.00 in games away from Coors Field.
