Everyone that got paid mid season has been terrible.

Riley and who else?

Harris? He got that contract and had a fantastic stretch not long after.

To be fair, Strider wasn't a midseason payment, and there are reasons for his struggles. I don't think Harris is struggling either, just hella unlucky.

A hard hit ball finally found a hole for him last AB.

Riley... idk man... he got that contract and he lost all of his powers. And it's not because he's lazy, he just seems so confused at the plate, a lot like 2019 and 2020. It's weird how quickly he fell off.

You can call it unlucky but the results are 1-10 in 3 games

ETA he’s also good enough to make that catch he just missed

But he has hit the ball harder than pretty much anyone in the lineup. It's not like he is putting together bad AB's. Baseball can be a bitch like that.

Riley needs to stop trying to ambush.

That's just an unfair expectation. He was shifted towards right and had to run a mile. The fact that he was remotely close to it shows how crazy good he is at his routes to the ball. Adam Duvall isn't even in the picture if that was hit in the postseason last year.

Harris and Riley both way too aggressive in this game. Take a fricking pitch and settle down.

For our strategy for these two games, getting blown out was really the best outcome if we had to lose. Imagine being tied and having to use our elite arms and then still losing

The first game sucks because we stranded the bases loaded twice and then hit a 3-run homer in the 9th just to tease us.

But yeah, it's nice that we have only used Minter/Iglesias/Kenley once, so they'll be fresh. But it also sucks that we've only used them once, if that makes sense.
