Dissatisfied with the games played in Milwaukee? You're not alone. Says Manager Cecil Cooper "I'm definitely not happy with it,It's bigger than me, I guess. You want to play in your home ballpark. It's a bit of a disadvantage. They've got the fans there that can drive up [from Chicago]. But what else can you do?" Also chiming in was ace Roy Oswalt "I know we can't play, but I don't understand why they can't find another site [other than Miller Park]. It's so close to Chicago, where guys can drive to the ballpark. It's more convenient for them than for us." Still pissed? You can e-mail the comish at bud.selig@mlb.com. Get 'em Bayoubengal

What other options were availible?

The options that were being discussed were Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Tampa Bay, Milwaukee and Atlanta. Miller Park was ultimately chosen because it had a roof. That is an explanation that I don't understand. Another option that was put out there was Round Rock's Dell Diamond. MLB shunned that idea saying that it wasn't an MLB park. Isn't this the MLB that played games at Disneys Wide World of Sports complex. I don't understand why Arlington wasn't an option. The Milwaukee decision was made yesterday, so they would have known that the storm would be long gone by today. The Rangers were in Oakland and a double header could have been played in Arlington today where they had perfect weather for it.

Its a conspiracy
I said nothing about the comish's ties to Milwaukee. Thats dumb reasoning. I do think that Miller Park shouldn't have been an option as a "neutral site."

Asked if fatigue played a role in this loss, Erstad would have none of it.
"Those are all excuses," he said. "You play the game. It had nothing do with it. They just they played better than we did."
Miguel Tejada expressed a similar sentiment, reminding inquisitors that the Astros are still very much in a playoff chase.
"I don't want to use any excuses," he said. "We got no-hit. We have to give credit to Zambrano for what he did. We just work here. They scored more runs than we did, Zambrano threw a great game and it's a loss."
now if only astro fans would start thinking like this....

I'm done with that part. I kept to myself following the game. Although I do think the Stros had their minds somewhere else during the game. They chased a lot of pitches that they won't usually go after and never showed any patience. I don't want to discredit Big Z though. Its certainly not easy to pitch a no hitter. Especially once it gets later in the game. He didn't let up and got himself a no hitter.
That is what I said in the No-hitter thread.

But you did make an excuse

Didn't matter where the game was played at Big Z was still gonna flat out dominate. He always does against the Astros. I would favor a more neutral site but you gotta play with the hand you are dealt. A win tomorrow would be huge going into the Florida series. Really need to salvage a game.
