we just need to be thankful that Hinch didn't lose this game in the sixth when he pulled Urquidy way too early. the score is 8-1 right now, but if not for Harris saving Hinch's arse, this would be a very different game right now.

Which is odd to me if that is actually the rule considering if you touch the bag with your feet and have control of the ball, you can have it in your pocket or in your hat.

That's obviously the case on a tag, but on a force on a base it doesn't make much sense. If a cleat spike is good enough, why wouldn't the glove be?

I would bet it's an out. In every other case, like a HBP or runner hit by a batted ball, all parts of the uniform are part of the player.
