I feel the Saints are gonna surprise some people this year. Its like they forgot about how good they can be when healthy and with Sean Payton on the sidelines.

the defense still blows

lazy analysis.

They signed two very solid players and switched to a scheme much more fitting to the personnel. They won't be the steelers, but they'll be on the low end of average...exactly where they were before the coordinator switch.

Also, people don't take into account enough how the inconsistencies on offense without Payton affected the defense. More 3 and outs mean more time on the field for the D usually in worse field position. If Payton has the offense running on all cylinders again, it'll likely be good for 1 or more times the defense is resting on the sideline instead of trotting back out there.

No one is over looking them but if you think they are an elite team in the NFC you are delusional.

Do you honestly think there is a big difference between GB and the Saints at this point? Atl and the saints?

I think SF and Seattle's rosters are great. They have a small window to keep a stacked roster before they have to seriously start paying qbs and making hard decisions. GB has already made some of those decisions. Hence the dog shite Oline and horrific secondary.

Atl has a window of THIS year before they lose 1/3rd of their tremendous receiving trio and have to pay a very good qb ELITE qb money...and have to pay Julio Calvin Johnson type (or close money).

Very rarely do the top two seeds both make the NFCCG (11 Giants, 10 Packers, 08 Cardinals and Eagles, 07 Giants)

Both years the Saints were in the championship game, you would have been on crack to say before the season began that they were a top two seed.

Last year was a rare year where everything stayed to form.

Point is, you just don't know, so it's stupid to confidently predict.

I mean, I thought that this year was supposed to be year three of the Eagles "Dream Team" dynasty.

not meant as a flame at all, but they're going to have to pay him similar to Brees/Rodgers....and Flacco. We don't know if he could have the same amount of success without his elite receiving weapons.

He's in the top 6 or so.

who is predicting anything? You cant keep moving the goal posts. Are we talking about the class of the NFC or making the playoffs? One is easy to speculate. The other ,not so much.

let's go with top 4 then. I bet you they make the division round at least. you listed 4 teams you think are elite so 4 is a good number.

they do seem to get hurt A LOT

Putting a lot on the shoulders of Rodgers. Especially taking away one of his receivers. They still have 3 good ones but if one or two go down like they seem to it's going to get very thin...especially with that line.

Whatever help you sleep at night. Objectively speaking ,and based off the OP, its laughable to put them in the same class as the aforementioned teams.

I'd be fine putting GB a level lower but the addition of the RB makes them a formidable team when healthy.
