Career Playoff Averages

Lebron
28.9 PPG .459 FG% 8.6 Rebs 7.1 Assists 1.6 Steals 1.0 Blocks

Wade
26.2 PPG .479 FG% 5.5 Rebs 5.9 Assists 1.6 Steals 1.1 Blocks

Jordan

33.4 PPG .487 FG% 6.4 Rebs 5.7 Assists 2.1 Steals .88 Blocks

Pippen
17.5 PPG .444 FG% 7.6 Rebs 5.0 Assists 1.9 Steals .9 Blocks

is it really a big stretch to say Wade/Lebron > Jordan/Pippen?

Keep in mind the first 9 years of Jordans career there were a lot more points scored in the league.

1984-85 Averages
110.8 PPG Per Team
102.1 Possessions Per Team
49.1% FG%

1992-93 Averages
105.3 PPG
96.8 Poss.
47.3% FG%

1994-95 Averages
101.4 PPG
92.9 Poss.
46.6% FG%

2011 Averages
99.6 PPG Per Team
92.1 Possessions Per Team
45.9% FG%

League Averages

In my biased opinion MJ and Pip would own those bitches in every way. Even more so, Jordans dominance over Wade would be epic. Not even close.

but ur opinion isn't based on anything other than ur biased memories.

the only stat Jordan really has the advantage in is PPG by a small margin. The NBA was much faster paced during Jordans first 9 years than it has been since.

Here are Jordans #s his last 4 years, when the leagues pace, average PTs, and average possessions was closer to it is today

1995-1998
31.5 PPG .484 FG% 6.5 Rebounds 4.5 Assists
30.7 PPG .459 FG% 4.9 Rebounds 4.1 Assists
31.1 PPG .456 FG% 7.9 Rebounds 4.8 Assists
32.4 PPG .462 FG% 5.1 Rebounds 3.5 Assists

It is a stretch to be saying that now. Who knows maybe Wade and LeBron catch a jones and win 3 in a row. Still the thing about Jordan and Pippen that sticks out more so than Wade/LeBron is their defense was exceptional. Pippen went against the best offensive player on the other team every night. You'll need much more than stats to say Wade/LeBron is better than Jordan/Pippen. Just my 2 cents.

it's really hard to compare defensive stats for the 2 pairs because of the hand check rules

Jordan and Pippen average about .5 steals per game more and Lebron and Wade average .3 blocks per game more

I have never met anyone that thinks that Wade is as good as Jordan, until now.

i've never met anyone that fails at reading comprehension as much as you... ever

i don't think Wade is as good as Jordan, and I never ever said he was

however it seems like you are saying Pippen is as good as Lebron, which is just retarded

Maybe I didnt comprehend this statement.

BTW, this topic has been done many times. 2 on 2 Jordan/Pippen beat Wade/James 9 out of 10 times imo.

A) It's not a stretch at all to think Wade/James > Jordan/Pippen.

B) But those playoff stats mean nothing, because Wade and James have accumulated those stats over the years without playing together. The whole point of a duo is what the two players do while while playing together.

oh i agree, it's just an argument i wanted to discuss on the board. only time will tell what the future holds, but they are on pace to be higher than Jordan+Pippin in every stat so far this playoffs except scoring (which they are neck and neck in and would lead if adjusted for pace of the games compared to the past)

Offensively Wade is very close to Jordan IMO. Jordan shot a touch better and was better at the post up. They are about the same driving to the basket. Defensively, Wade deserved the All NBA defensive nod this year, but Jordan was probably the best defensive 2 guard ever. Wade is a better rebounder and passer IMO. Jordan is obviously better, but if they played against the each other it would be a tough match for both guys. Would probably be similar to when Drexler played Jordan in the finals.

Jordan dominated Drexler in the finals bro, just like he'd dominate Dwheelchair

Wade/LeBron are playing in a harder era than Jordan/Pippen FWIW.

I like how that guy cited Wade giving Jordan problems like Drexler did. MJ ate Drexler alive in the finals:

36/7/5 on 53% shooting

FWIW I don't think this comparison is as bad as some are making it out to be. Pippen is the catching point. He was really good, but not as good as Lebron or Wade.

Basketball talk on this board has gone full retard.
You slobbering mouth-breathers can seriously, straight-faced sit there and type that LeBron and Wade are better than MJ and Scotty ?
Set the crack pipe down and slowly walk away, before you kill the few operational brain cells you have left.

Both LeBron and Wade are better than Pippen. It's not that far-fetched.

We are way off tonite. Pippen was a much better all-round player then Wade will ever be. There is also no way this era of basketball is tougher than the Jordan era. The first reason is that the Bulls of the 90's don't play now.

That Bulls team would own this Miami team. Is there any real question about that?

Wade is better than Pippen, whether he has the "all-around" game that Pippen did or not.

It's definitely tougher than the league was when the Bulls 3-peated for the 2nd time.

Well this should be one of the worst teams Miami fields in the next few years, amazingly enough.
