Does the new coach have to pick up the tab?

Big name hire. However, odd that apparently Blankenship didn't deal with parents the right way. Then they hire a guy that hasn't had to deal with parents for almost 20 years. Probably bolts after two or three years.

I like the hire personally. He has the stroke to tell parents to sit down and shut up.

Which is what they didn't like about Blankenship. But Good hire

That's not why he was let go, at least not the reason I was told.

Simoneaux didn't exactly light it up at La Tech, a record of 297-370 over 12 years.
But college baseball is a whole different animal than HS baseball.

It could turn out to be a great hire. Hope so.

Good luck to him.

99 out of 104 players that played for him in American Legion went on to play baseball in some capacity after high school.

HS coaches shouldn't deal w parents, they should deal with the players...

They are big boys at that point

I Agree with this. But not the way it is. he Will have to deal with the parents. Which will unfortunately determine his success there.

I know one top coach that tells parents... Sure I'll meet with you about your son. As long as we are discussing an injury or discipline issue. If not, just remember to bring all of his uniforms and team gear when you come for the meeting because he will no longer need it.

So apparently assistant football coach is part of the job. Playing summer baseball past June is another issue. Not sure how Simoneaux fits into that criteria lol. When was the last time he stepped foot on a football field as a coach?

I don't see Wade Simoneaux coaching football, or being told when to stop coaching baseball.
