They'd get crushed if they scheduled a top level FCS team like a Valley or Big Sky school.

Yeah. Probably. That Celebration Bowl performance was not impressive, I imagine any FCS playoff appearance would end similarly.

You think the reason JSU doesn’t play more FBS/P5 is because they don’t want to? They would have every non-conference game be against FBS/P5 if it were up to them.
Its a debate whether they should take these " money games" , but they aren't afraid to play them.

Alabama State will play UCLA in 2022

Alcorn state will play Miss State (25) & Ole Miss (28)

UAPB- Arkansas (21), Oklahoma State (22) , TTU( 25 & 27) , Mizzou(26)

FAMU - USF( 21, 23 & 27) , Miami (24 & 26 ), Georgia( 28)- They've played these schools before & beat Miami once.

Grambling - LSU(23)

Southern- LSU (22), Fresno (23)

T Southern- Baylor(21)

P View- Texas A&M (21)

I'm more insulted that it's a Cincinnati fan questiong an FCS schools ooc schedule.

Beautiful campus, great city, amazing education for those young men
Yet JSU has somehow managed to develop more NFL HOFers(4) than the Volunteers despite their money and arrogance. Morgan State, JSU, S Carolina State , Grambling all have developed more Hofers than all but 2 or 3 SEC schools. SEC schools which would have required a National guard escort to allow Black players on campus now will dislocate their shoulders patting themselves on the back about how they " developed " these players

People should also look at the transfer portal & see the dozens of highly ranked athletes that have
transferred to SWAC/ MEAC teams. Players usually shut out from HBCU'S outside of a few transfers that didn't pan out. I hope this is a movement instead of a moment.

They played 2 P5 teams on the road OOC.

How many SEC schools do this?

bunch of guys from the 70s and 80s and Wentz who played at the NDSU juggernaut in the toughest FCS conference in the Valley. Not great examples there.

Terron Armstead
Darius Leonard
Kyle Dugger
Tarik Cohen

If you can play, the NFL knows about it. Same with every other pro league.

C'mon LSU. Do better.

I hate white like this when the best team like Alabama plays the Citadel or Mercer or Saint Mary's Sisters of the Poor.

What a joke and embarrassment. USC and Notre Dame have never played an FCS school...the last ones standing with integrity for the game.

“I really stamped my final decision (Friday),” Coleman said. “Really just talked to my parents, told them the decision I was making was to be different to make my own legacy, to make change.”
This should be respected more than the Kids wanting to go to Bama or the same few p5 schools. Watch the transfer portal & the SWAC school committs:

JSU transfers P5/ FBS transfers: Mark Pope( Miami), Josh Griffis ( FSU), Cameron Buckley( Texas A&M), Jordyn Willis( Indiana), James Houston ( Florida) Malachi Wideman ( Tennessee) , Aubrey Miller ( Mizzou), Jurrente Davis( MTSU), Treveon Mullins ( USCe) , Simi Moala( Utah/ PAC 12 all conference) would be the 1st Samoan HBCU committ if he follows through.

Alabama A&m is doing work: Carlos Becker ( FSU) , Darrell Middleton ( Tennessee/ WVU) , Eddie Watkins ( WVU), Charles Bell( Maryland), Day day Coleman (Arizona),
Grambling : Kajiya Hollawayne(UCLA), Maurice Washington ( Nebraska)

These are just are few it's really impressive what HBCU'S have done in the transfer portal. SWAC / MEAC has always had quality skills players, but interior line has been a weakness. Hope this is a movement
& not a moment.

You want to start from the 1990's since PWI fans like to discuss history only when it's convenient? Aeneas Willians ( Hofer) , Shannon Sharpe ( hofer) , Strahan ( hofer), McNair, Hugh Douglass, Jake Reed, Jimmy Smith, Darius Leonard, Orlando Brown, Maurice Hurst, Gerald Perry, Michael Ball, Tarik Cohen, Andrew Glover, Robert Porcher, Javon Hargrave, Nick Collins, Donald Driver, Ben Coates, Robert Mathis, Erik Williams, Antoine Bethea, Rashard Mathis, Rodgers Cromartie, Yancey Thigpen, Jacoby Jones, Ashley Ambrose, Justin Durant, T Armstead, etc.... and others I'm missing.

Funny how you p5 fans want to dismiss history when Black players they claim to "develop" would need National Guard escorts to get on campus. Despite all of their money & arrogance SEC schools like Florida , Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State , Auburn, USCe, Georgia, Kentucky, Vandy, etc.......have still not surpassed small HBCUs like Grambling, JSU, Morgan State, S Carolina State when it comes to NFL HOFers(4).

Waste of talent. Will play inferior competition and never develop.to their potential. Jackson State isn't any good anyways. Won't even go into the FCS playoffs because they'd get curbs stomped and their myth would be shattered.

One of my degrees is from Valdosta State, and I follow D-II very closely. Tuskegee never entered the D-II players either until Winston-Salem made it to the championship game.

Perhaps JSU will choose to participate in the FCS playoffs at some point.

Talk to me when Mizzou or any SEC East team surpasses Grambling, Jackson State, Morgan State or S Carolina State in " developing" NFL Hofers( 4 each).

After 50 years of SEC integration & hundreds of millions of dollars buying players & having television exposure these schools cannot surpass these tiny HBCU schools. Show some respect.
