Iowa st beat Texas by 23 pts when Cyclone players were trying to lose. Hahaha.

100 years ago when there wasn’t an ounce of oversight or tracking. Got it.
Fact is, this shite is so scrutinized with independent monitors, the casinos, the government, GPS tracking, etc. Not to mention heavy supervision by the schools. Can it happen? Of course. But I’d be shocked if the scenario that I replied to ever happened.

I think any smart bookie or mobster would stay away from a high profile game like the national title. Go to some MAC game that nobody is paying attention to.
Exactly. The exposure for such a consequential game is too high to risk. The poster said a $1MM payout to the player, so you’re talking about a multi million dollar bet. No way.

on the flip side of that, to actually make money throwing a game you need a large number of tickets by regular betters so your action doesn't draw attention.
some random MAC game with a ton of action is going to draw attention

You would think wrong then.

yeah, we always b*tch that refs are paid off or certain games are rigged, but I don't know if anyone SERIOUSLY believed that
Actually lots of us have been saying it for years but most of y’all don’t believe us

Plenty of games are rigged in college by players knowing they want a payday and can't make the big leagues. You are very naive.
Not only that, conferences can rig a game when it’s more beneficial for them that one team win

They were spreading their money for challenge level tennis tournaments in Bosnia and Georgia(the country). And this was the Russian Mafia, talking billion dollar bosses here
Will some idiots maybe try and payoff a player in a high marquee game? Sure. But they would be an idiot. Anyone with actual skin and brains are going to spread the money around and make it under the radar as possible

can you expound on those things you listed? genuine question. i'm talking about a private bookie who comes in contact with a starter for a team in a big game. not a casino
also, are you saying the gov't has a branch dedicated to tracking sports gambling? never heard of this branch or agency
also, what do you mean by GPS tracking? and can i have an example of an "independent monitor?"

like i said, it's one thing when we complain due to our emotional attachment to a team, but another when there's hard evidence. if there actual, solid proof of these things occurring, then it would be headline news for days

I do not these are as prevalent with the legalization of gambling. Certainly not for the sums of money you’re talking about.

Every state has a gaming board

GPA tracking meaning every bet made from a mobile device is known. If you’re going to multiple states to place in person bets, you’re tracked. U.S. Integrity is a company that casinos and schools contract out to monitor suspicious betting.
