The NBA is ruing the day they created the WNBA. The idea was that this would provide professional basketball year round.
However, not only did it turn into a money pit but the media/feminists are crying that the owners are not paying the players enough. The players themselves are crying too.
Imagine making demands when you're subsidized by the Mens league
If the wnba folded, it would be its most profitable season.

To be fair, nobody thought it would be on par as popularity as the NBA but at the same time, they didnt foresee it being this complete disaster.
It was reported that the WNBA never turned a profit.
Last year it grossed the largest in the league's history and it still lost $40 million.
