Loyola-Chicago's win today which clinched their first NCAA bid since 1984-85 got me to thinking about their stud player from that team. Hughes was drafted as the 14th pick by the Spurs in that famous 1985 NBA Draft that gave us Ewing, Mullin, Oakley, etc. He played one year and was done. Anyone know what
became of him?
Other blasts of the past from that draft:
Jon Koncak(sp?) SMU
Joe Klein Arkansas
Benoit Benjamin Creighton
Xavier McDaniel Wichita St

He works as a sales rep at a Chevy dealership. Chicago Tribune actually just did a feature on him a couple of days ago. Alfredrick Hughes article

Good find. I remember being in middle school and that year,1984-85, really jump started March Madness. They expanded the tourney to 64 teams and you had all these great college players and teams. I jumped on the Hughes and Loyola bandwagon and they made the Sweet 16. Good times.
