True, but Girardi is a decent manager.

How could you watch that game and say that Joe Girardi is a decent manager?

People are overreacting about the no challenge on the hit batter in the 6th, which is saving him from the much deserved criticism for leaving Green in the game instead of going to Robertson. Then he proves that he's willing to leave Robertson out there for almost two innings anyway, which only makes that decision even worse.

Not to mention the whole thing starts when he takes Sabathia out after 77 fricking pitches when he's looking more than fine. This isn't 2015 or 2016. Sabathia is a good arse pitcher, and has been most of the season.

Sabathia made 11 starts this season after Yankee losses. He was 9-0 with a 1.71 ERA. He literally thrives in games like this, and was probably on his way to 10-0.

Inexcusable.

Yankees deserve to be swept. You can't give up a 8-3 lead in the fricking playoffs

I think he had a really tough game. Coulda made a case for going batter to batter wth CC into the 7th instead of pulling after 6 IP/77 P and cruising. Obvious snafu on the HBP v foul tip no challenge, and last but not least - woulda thought short leash on Betances working his third inning of relief after pitching last night. He was sharp the first two innings, but not to start the 13th with that 4 or 5 pitch walk.

I hope they keep him for a long time though.
