A point on trademark suits. Intellectual property lawyers please chime in

Trademark owners MUST send cease and desist letters. If they know of a violation, and do NOT do so, they can lose their trademark rights. Others can claim that the owner has abandoned trademark rights if cease and desist letters are not sent to all known violators (and followed up with lawsuits if needed)
Same thing with patents.

But in fact, the bigger program is required to do this by law.

What points do you have to make about people that claim joe burrow would be seen as a top 5 qb and better than Dwayne haskins by the end of the 2018 college football season, and then never post any evidence that supports their claim?
