Will have a clip up in a bit but Chase Elliott expanded quite a bit on his "More Saturday Night races" take he shared on RWTB.
Mentioned that he said what he said because of things he was told directly from people who were there

Chase Elliott on why he advocated for more Saturday night races on RWTB:
"Honestly, those comments came directly from people that I know personally that either went to the race and weren't super thrilled about their Monday morning and probably won't do it again, or people that chose not to go because they had to go to work on Monday morning.
"It stemmed directly from fans of our sport, people that aren't just watching on TV. People that are spending their money to come support us at-track, in-person, in the stands. And that was why I said that, just because I have heard it directly."
Chase acknowledged that he understands TV's role in things, he feels there's room for a middle ground and thinks Saturday night races can help NASCAR take advantage of certain factors pertaining to television - Particularly in the summertime when baseball is the only thing going on and the FIFA World Cup is ending.

Truck race getting ready to start
Q: Will trucks get race in?

In the short-term, it looks good. We’ll need to watch for 1) storms west of the track, moving east - though slowly, and 2) additional around the track.
Lightning could be an issue at some point. Localized flooding could be also been an eventually concern later this afternoon

I pause during start if commercials go do some stuff come back and ff thru.
I noticed Jamie is missing from booth. Not a fan of Mikey but its so damn nice not to have her voice. She was great in pit and horrible in booth.
Anyone know what happened to her?

I noticed that too. No clue as to why though. Chandler Smith has the truck to beat if he can get past Hocevar

Chase has a good long run truck, he was top of 10 lap avg yesterday and did it from lap 32-41 of practice. His short run is harder when everyone is fighting at restarts. He is giving up some which then he has to fight back. If he can get to top 3 then he has a chance but needs better restarts

It’s so hard to pass here so it makes track position that much more important. It’s worked for Jake Garcia and Ty Majescy There’s going to be some interesting strategy this stage

Again, Chase started 5th and of course his line sucked at start and he drops to 10th. Now will have to fight rest of race. Its a guess which line will go best and so far he’s picked wrong line every time.

Did you notice Hocavar running 3 laps in traffic at less than half the speed - and no caution. I never understand Nascar calls. He was a rolling target and they let it go (I’m fine with it) but then they will throw cautions for way way less.

Yeah I kept waiting for the yellow, but I guess nascar wanted them to finish the last two laps to finish the stage. I’m with you though. Makes no sense.

The TV crew is behind track action today. Focused on one thing while booth talks something else. Still not too bad, better than normal
