I missed a legendary race. I wonder how many more years will the racing surface allow for fantastic, entertaining races?

I say let’s skip Indy and race Atlanta again this weekend.

Bubba firstly blamed Gibbs and took no accountability. Gibbs is a punk too, but Wallace chopped him and on plate tracks you can’t slow suddenly.

Then he says he never passed anyone but he did. Took no accountability again.

And lets not forget he ran Blaney into wall. Luckily Blaney was able to race on but he almost pitted with a bad vibration.

Last lap video and Bubba went from way high to under line. He blew it and won’t admit. This is why he fights with the cut line every year while Reddick fights for the top, in same equipment. He’s in the best equipment in garage and just runs out of talent.

My punk meter has Jussie above Gibbs so I’ll allow it

Boy, this could easily merge into a PT thread, but I’ll keep it about racing

Bell went with Blaney and gave him a good push at the finish helping him win. Bell could’ve easily chosen Hocevar though. I like Hocevar and what he brings to the sport, but there are consequences to his racing style. I’m not saying that’s what cost him the win, but you never know.

Thats a good point. Hocevar left many drivers high and dry. And he paid the price when it mattered.

Gibbs got his NOAP title by wrecking his competitor intentionally in last race of that year. He is a grade A punk.

Bubba is a race grifter who solely has the seat because of it. I loved MJ as a player but despise him keeping Bubba in the seat when many drivers could have it and do way better. MJ had a chance to be a great owner but then hired and kept Bubba fir DEI not racing reasons. Too bad. And I like Reddick, he’s a wheel man and I wish he was on another team.

I also despise Nascar allowing Hamlin to race for one team and partly own a competitor. Massive conflict of interest.

Anyways, glad Blaney won he deserved and earned the win. He owes Bell some grace or pushes in the future.

Spot on.

23XI has left a bad taste in my mouth because of what you said. Also, Heim will over perform Jussie next year. Take it to the bank!

When I woke up, I was expecting to watch highlights full of wrecks, but it honestly was a pretty clean race.

SVG is learning fast. He was pretty awesome last night.

Something I had never thought about and learned last night. The Aussie league he drove in does not use spotters. So coming to Cup he had never heard of the concept. And its taken time to learn how to best use/trust them. When you never had help its hard to trust at first.

Something we take for granted but he was disadvantaged in spotter help solely because he never had it and all Cup drivers grew up with it.

SVG is a great story to follow. I hated the press and pundits overhyping him after he won his first ever Cup race. But thats toned down and now he’s really growing into a really good Cup driver. Nothing was given he’s earned it all the way.

How does Hocevar not know the words to “I just Died in Your Arms”? Even just those words. It’s one of the most recognizable songs of the 80s, and I’d surmise 85% of high school aged kids know that song.

I’ll give him some slack since he had a lot on his plate.

Wonder if he can catch 2nd or 1st

Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney combined to win the first 6 races of the season.

Hamlin was once 129 points below Reddick in the standings; now Hamlin leads Reddick by 25.

Blaney was 174 points back after Nashville, but now he's just 65 points away from the lead.

I had heard of him prior to Chicago 23. I used to watch the V8s before Fox kicked speed network off tv. He was impressive then. Did a little research when they announced it. Something about him winning told me he wasn’t a fluke. I figured it wouldn’t take long.

Dude podiumed in his first WRC event. Granted it was WRC2 but that’s impressive as hell for someone who doesn’t do it full time.

I laugh at all the losers on Facebook so triggered by his presence in nascar. He’s one of the best on the planet. Appreciate it while he’s here. SVG is what everyone expected Montoya to be.

Easy to read points. What I notice is the chase points. They have 12 races and points are not reset and no one is eliminated. This makes race strategies important. Its not just 3 races to the next cutoff.

I wonder how the non chasers will race them since there will be more in it until the end.

And from 3rd to 16th isn’t really much separation, which the ild chase format gave way more points for reg season stuff.

This is current but will change.

Berry has far less starts than everyone else and is 4 away from the most. Yikes.

This shows Bubba saying he never gained. This shows Bubba gaining. Good footage of in car and wide view.

Really easy call. He gained because of going below the line, pretty simple. He was not pushed below either he willingly put his car below the line to gain advantage.

Had he stayed behind Blaney he could have pushed him ahead of Hocevar and then cut low and likely passes him before flag. Bell pushed Blaney but remember Bubba was originally behind Blaney and had more time to push out and then pass.

He had a bad night trying to wreck drivers then whined when he finally got penalized for something. He also whined about Gibbs which was part of that interview and not shown. I can’t find his Gibbs whine footage but he chopped Gibbs and went for a spin then blamed Gibbs when he was who caused it. He ran Blaney into wall too.

I think he is feeling the pressure of not winning when Reddick is winning and doing great in same equipment. Sponsors must be getting antsy

Bob Pockrass
@bobpockrass

North Wilkesboro tire for Cup is same as Martinsville, Bowman Gray, Phoenix. Cup teams will have 9 sets for the race. And four sets of wet weather tires.
