And yet Cianciarulo is still out there. Who would of imagined.

Gut wrenching to see Eli go out like that. Honestly kind of devastated the way that happened. In front of his home crowd as well.

Sure he can comeback but I don't see how he could be ready in time for next year's Supercross season.

I would not be so certain. Achilles takes a while to repair and he will not be able to do any riding during period. Personally, I think he's over. If he comes back, I don't think he'll be able to compete at the top. Sexton is already faster than him and others are close.

I really wanted to see him win this one. I know some think it is a cheap championship for Chase but it isnt. Yes, Eli had it but Chase was his own worst enemy early this season

I feel so bad for Eli. That is one of the biggest freak things I have seen in Motocross since I started being involved with it 45 years ago. Just wow

If he completely snapped his Achilles, it could take a year or more to heal. That is not good for him.

It’s such a freak thing to happen. I bet you will see teams start putting ankle saver foot pegs on their bikes in the future. From what I’ve read that’s the only thing that could of prevented this.

Looked like it gave way when he compressed on that face. You could see his leg flinch. They said it happed on the landing but I think it gave way on the take off

I agree. I believe it happened in the g-out on the face of the takeoff.

He barely over jumped the landing of the table top. He never missed a beat on the over jump. That was a freak situation.

It truly is heartbreaking. I wanted to see Tomac go out with a championship. I don’t see him coming back.

Here is my biggest question: Will Honda let Sexton go to KTM next year and race with that #1 plate? A plate that Honda hasn’t had in 20 years.

Talk about Chaos! Honda finally gets a SX title and KTM gets to sport the plate!

Lars is all class, but I’m talking about the higher ups of Honda. Those that write the checks. Most of these guys have clauses in their contracts with Championships. Some even have clauses that allows them to match any offer and keep the rider.

It was discussed with Barcia and Plessinger a few years ago before leaving Yamaha. I don’t remember if it was one or both that Yamaha almost matched the contract to make them stay.

I think the the number and the red plate go to the rider that earned it. Don’t think the manufacturers have a say in it.

I know MC did it a bunch.

If Sexton leaves, the plate 100 percent goes with him. I was talking about clauses in the contract that allows current contract/team to override future team’s contract offer.

I don’t think it happens because I believe Honda is 120% invested into the Lawrence Brothers. Honda was so arrogant in the 80’s and 90’s that as much as they enjoy winning this one, it will sting just as bad watching that plate the Honda team earned being worn by a different brand.

It’s amazing that Honda hasn’t won a premier championship in 20 years.

Great year that went out with a fizz.

On to Fox in a couple weeks with what’s left of the field. 250s probably be better racing than the big bikes

If you enjoy seeing privateers do well, then this summer is for you lol.

Hopefully some of these factory teams put some privateers on factory bikes. That makes sponsors happy and really makes the privateers happy.

They may even find a gem in one of those guys. It’s surely happened before.

Happy for Sexton and I would never say someone doesnt "deserve" winning. The rules are, the man with the most points at the end of the season is the champion. And that is exactly what he did. Congrats to him

Injuries are part of racing and keeping the bike on two wheels is one of the main goals. I just feel so bad for Eli, that would have been an incredible story and now it is turned into a terrible ending of a career that has the second most wins in AMA history. It's not like he lost focus and did something stupid or lost his head, shite just gave way on him at such a very odd and incredible time.

Chase was already the future in my eyes. He just got started a year earlier than I think he should have.

Like some of you said, outdoors is going to be weird. LOL
