My wife and I flew to Arizona last year to vacation with the final destination being Salt Lake City SX.

Watching practice, I pointed out that in the sand section that guys on the outside stayed on the outside in the turn, but that it would be much faster to jump across to the inside line from the outside. Jett was the only guy to do it in the 250 groups and only 1-2 450 guys did it.

Jett sees and does things that nobody has done since Kevin (Windham). Kevin had an ability to see different lines and make them happen. Mr D taught him that, but it’s easier to see it than do it. Kevin had that ability and Jett has that same ability! Jett has more hunger and better conditioning than Kevin did in his early days!

He will be a force in the 450’s

Hell he proved that at Des Nations. I honestly think he should be on a 450 right now. But HRC gets what HRC wants.

Going for those four , 250 titles but I agree. It will be good to see him on the 450 Triumph next year.

Remember that Des Nations is 37 Euro’s against 3 Americans. The Euro’s sweep their turns more than Americans.

Jett grew up riding that style, so it helped him at Des Nations. Saying that, I still think he is a top 2-3 guy outdoor this year. It’s a different ballgame when those guys are fighting you individually for a championship.

Jett could win it this year buts Sexton and Ferrandis will be hard to deal with. Those guys will hit him and match his speed. That may be a shock for him, but it may not! Jett is special.

My daughter and son in law went to this race for his birthday. He’s a 3 time La off road state champion and they met through off road racing. The trip is his birthday present. I look forward to hearing about the weekend.

I'm pretty sure those 23' ktms and huskys have something wrong with their new electrical fuel system. The same exact thing happened to Reed and Josh Grant at the WSX event in November. Cut out landing on a table top, same crash and everything.

Crazy race. Sucks for Mookie. Tomac just has that other level in his pocket. Glad to see Roczen didn’t fade much. Should be a great season barring a slew of injuries.

The first time I saw K-dub was at the MX track in Watson around ‘85. He was a little dude on a 60 and they called him Revvin Kevin. It wasn’t long he was on an 85 racing open class and fearless, but not reckless. I think his dad had a lot to do with that. Kid was special before his nuts dropped.

Mookie is so fast but makes those crucial mistakes. In college, I roomed with 5 college baseball players. This was after I spent two years wrenching for a pro rider.

One of the baseball players told me baseball was the hardest sport in the world because a player with 30 percent success was considered great. I asked him what about being a 70 percent failure made you great! He knew my history of SX/MX and I asked him this question: if a sport had a 1 percent failure, it meant an ambulance ride to the hospital, would you call that more difficult/dangerous? Of course his answer was: yeah! He said, only an idiot would do that! ??

That describes mx’rs. It’s a crazy sport that the smallest mistake can mean a hospital visit!

Tomac has always been great at picking his way through the pack but 2 years ago when he started hitting hole shots, I knew it was gonna get rough for everyone else.

It’s so great to see him at the top of his game but also have legit competition. Hombre matched him in SX wins last year and stole some wins in MX, Sexton took him to the wire, and Roczen took the Paris SX event from him. Which was literally the only event he lost.

I’m so happy it’s back.
