Debating taking that +150 on Sinner at Bovada.

Funny Norrie is almost the same price today as Dusan was a couple rounds ago.

I wouldn't even know how to go about betting aces or double faults on clay. Seems like all luck basically.

Could be an edge to be found in service breaks though.

Alcaraz going to sleep walk his way through Rio. It's the exact same field as Buenos Aires. The only people that might be able to challenger him are either still playing in Europe, clay rats (specialists) who are currently in poor form, or players resting before Acapulco.

I guess he wants the reps, but playing these shitty 250s might not be the best idea if he plays Mexico, Indian Wells, and Miami. That's a ton of stress before you even hit the real clay season. On edit, I see Rio is 250, but it still seems rinky dink.

Apparently, Mannarino was stringing at 19 lbs at Delray Beach.

Your public service announcement for the day is Nikoloz made it into Doha as a lucky loser. I want to unload on him at -145 tomorrow, but a little scared after the Broady disaster. I was going to do it on Fokina -200 today against some guy I had never heard of, but I backed off when I saw he was ranked in the 50s.

That is the lowest I've ever heard of. For comparison I think Agassi was stringing his racquets at like 72 early in his career.

I could swear the sticker on old Prince Graphite 110s said to string between 70 and 80. I think Borg was even doing something insane like stringing his small Donnay wood racquets at 80. I seem to recall Sampras and Lendl were up there, too. Gut was tough to control, so that's probably why they were doing that. I'm guessing poly is part of the reason tensions are dropping, (a) to save your arm and (b) because it lets you take bigger cuts at the ball.

I don't understand how he can control the balk at 19 pounds. I've got racquets strung at 55 with poly and there is a noticeable loss of control as it loses tension.

Me neither. When I got back into tennis 7 or 8 years ago, I started in the mid to high 50’s. It took me a good 5 years of gradually adjusting downward to be able to play in the mid to high 40’s where I am now.

He’s always been a guy that I’ve watched and thought, “how the hell does he hit the ball so hard with basically a half swing?”… well I guess we know how. But to control it that well is crazy. His hand skill and feel are off the charts.

Found this from 2018 and now I’m curious what tension Kukushkin uses.

Haven’t done any research yet but Murray at plus money vs. Zverev definitely stands out to me.

ETA: Oops still another day before this one.

Lucky loser being favored has to be a rare occurrence.

Just do a running parlay of Swiatek 2-0 every match and you can retire in a year or two.

And now Thiem and Musetti are out lol. Baez and Norrie are probably the only guys who can even take a set off him at this point.

Glad I didn't bet on Bas. It was an absolute roller coaster following the score. He got down 2-0 and two break points, battled back to get ahead in the first set, then lost it in a breaker. He then fought off three match points in the second set breaker, went up 2-0 in the third, and lost it 6-4.

I may be wrong, but Alcaraz may be able to regain the #1 if he wins Rio and Alcupolco.

He’s gonna have to sit out at some point. Can’t see him playing Buenos Aires, Rio, Acapulco, IW, and Miami without a break if he keeps winning.

Norrie and Monteiro are at the 58 minute mark at 4-3 in the first set. Absolute war.
