I wonder how Tsitsipas will respond in the next couple of rounds.

He's in perfect shape now to cruise to the semis at least, especially if he wins 3-0 in the next 2 or 3 rounds.

Shapo's out. Rune was cramping in Lyon playing best of 3. Ruud hasn't been able to get it together all clay season and was struggling to beat Grandpa Tsonga today. Maybe Hurkacz could challenge him if he's blasting serves but I think Shitsi has figured out how to neutralize any serves by standing near the back wall.

The big fella is OK on the clay.

Sakk of shite goes down. I was pretty close to betting on her as the woman to come out of that half. Great opportunity for big tiddy Anisimova to make a run in that half.

Alex is down two sets.

Alcaraz on Simmone Mathieu? The disrespect.

That's what those Frenchies get for putting the three best players on the same side of the draw.

But yeah, they certainly could have worked it out so that he was on one of the two main courts.

Can't fault a guy for winning but it's annoying when guys like Ramos accomplish nothing significant in their entire career yet they can ruin a draw. Alcaraz doing a fair amount of choking though.

Alcaraz just dodged a bullet.

Alcaraz is tighter than I've seen him before. He definitely feels the pressure.

Although that 131mph overhead was quite impressive.

I hope he wins

Not going for his shots at all. Really tentative. Maybe conditions are really slow and he doesn't think he can hit winners. It looks cool out there.

I think it's the stage. It's easier to confidently hit a drop shot down match point in a lesser tournament. He has chosen to push on some big points today which I've never seen him do.

60 unforced errors will do that.

That backhand winner was absolutely absurd though.

He's hitting all of his forehands off his back foot and the swing is loopier. Scared to miss. Can't blame him obviously.

Alcaraz played more like the animal he is in the tiebreaker.

Has Alcaraz played a 5-set match in his career?

ETA: He's down a break in the 5th already.

The Tsitsipas win was a "he's arrived" type of match

Dang! That's a lot of 5-set matches for a guy that young. Thanks for the info.
