5 second penalty for checo, he keeps the win.

magically opens a 6+ second lead?

I don’t think they were ever taking the win from checo. Less than 5 second lead I bet he just gets a reprimand.

I don't know, as soon as they said it would be assessed after the race, boom 6+seconds. Like everyone knew it would be a 5 second penalty.

Obviously Leclerc slowed down so checo could get the gap necessary to beat Leclerc

Explain it then, why did leclerc magically drop 6+ seconds back when he was riding his arse and had drs. It wasn't tires, those mediums had more than enough life, he didn't flat spot them or anything.
Please provide some other evidence that I obviously missed

Over 10 laps he ran about .5 sec quicker per lap. Again sainz was further behind Leclerc in the same car. Maybe Leclercs tires went off following checo. But to think that these teams spend hundreds of millions of dollars to let someone else win is laughable.

Leclerc went squirrely in a corner and fell out of DRS range. The entire season, Ferrari has had higher tire deg than the other top teams. Drivers are mostly aiming for a target lap time rather than pushing all out to aim for optimal tire performance. Checo was informed of the possible 5 sec penalty and was told to push harder to increase the gap.
What are you suggesting? That they on the fly created fake video on both the main shots and every single drivers on board video in range that created an illusion that Leclerc fell back when he really hadn't? Or that F1 secretly radioed in to Leclerc to tell him to drop back (and on the fly cut it out from his feed)?

In other news, getting real tired of George's shite. Seems like every other week he ruins someone else's race. Then has the balls to bitch about it.

When did he get squirrely, that's all I'm asking?

No, don't be stupid, you don't think it was weird leclerc was on his arse with tires that could go another 30 laps and then suddenly drop 6 seconds.
If he got loose in a corner than I missed it. That could have been answered a few posts ago, but whatever.

quote:Because him getting loose in one corner isn't the answer. Perez only got faster towards the end of the race, setting back to back to back fastest laps, and Leclerc couldn't keep up. It's pretty simple.

It could easily be the answer. Several drivers took the escape roads this morning.

quote:Except it can't be because the gap was accrued over several laps and not all at once. Let's use our heads here. He held at about 3 seconds down before falling further behind towards the end of the race. The explanation of getting loose in one corner makes no logical sense.

What lap did he start to fall off? I can't find lap times posted anywhere.
