re: 2021 NCAA MLAX Championship Tourney: UVA 17 vs. MD 16. UVA = Champs (2 in a row)

Appreciate you coming in to clarify.
LSU won their conference, but lost out early in the tournament. I am told that both the LSU starting goalie and back up goalie had to exit the tournament with emergency medical issues. They had to play a middie at goalie.
Which speaks to the value of quality depth in the NCAA programs, especially the ones who went deep in the tournament. Not that the LSU or any other team can control for medical emergencies such as that.

That's just how tough this game can be.
LSU has a stellar freshman goalie coming in from Caddo Magnet. Dude went 70-80%+ in multiple games his 2021 senior year. The depth will be back. Koplens is building something strong for the purple & gold.

Yes he is. Love that guy and what he has done for youth lacrosse in Louisiana.

He seems like a great guy. But that price tag for FTK is up there with Braxxtyn/Laytyhn travel ball OT life.

I appreciate everyone contributing to this thread. I learned a lot and have a lot to research.

I'm in shock this thread for this kind of traction. I feel like the last several years it goes like 2 pages for the entire tournament
Just finished watching the final. My word what an amazing game to watch. Outside of the OT games that's the best I've seen in quite a while.

Can’t believe I missed this game
Was at work the whole time
frick apparently it was great
My best friend and team mate from when I played, his little brother and very good friend of mine regardless played at UVA on scholly when they won in 2011 so I was pulling for them.
But watching that Maryland Duke game... that kid from Maryland looked unstoppable

17 saves against Duke. At one point vs UVA they had scored on 12 of 15 shots. He’s a lefty and UVA had a great plan against him. It was his first loss in college.

We’ve had a nice spirited conversation. Just goes to show the game continues to grow, no matter what side you are on when it comes down to the blue bloods vs how you see the game growing at the collegiate level.

Oops. I realize now you probably aren’t talking about the goalie, but Bernhardt. Yeah, he pressed big time vs UVA and could never get on track. Again, hats off to the Cavs on how they defended him and their plan.
