Down 26 spots in RPI in the last 7 days. That hurts... I got excited when I saw the Nashville Regional prediction. Hope we can win out and sneak back in somehow.

May 1st

Southern rallies for 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to knock off Nicholls St. 6-5 (walk-off 2-run single).

Southern has an easy team to pull for. Gritty team. Would not want to face them in a regional. Will be a tough 4 seed.

After losing 7 straight, the Cajuns are inexplicably leading Coastal Carolina 10-0 in the 9th inning

Tech was lead 6-5 going into the bottom of the seventh and now trails 14-6

I think it’s fair to say the wheels have completely fallen off

You’re seriously still talking about that game? It was almost three weeks ago. Let it go.

Looks like a double off of the wall but it's very close. I'd probably believe either call

With 2 weekends left on the season, let’s take a quick look at how the teams are doing.

As punishment for beating LSU in a Tuesday game, ULL has lost 8 of their last 10. They did just win 2 at Coastal Carolina, but it’s been a tough season for the Cajuns. Most likely they will miss out on postseason play again.

La Tech has struggled lately after starting the season with promise, and will need to win the CUSA tournament to earn a postseason bid. Devastated by a tornado that touched down in Ruston, the Bulldogs will play their final home games in Monroe

Tulane has put on an offensive clinic this season, but unfortunately so has everyone they’ve played. The Wave has struggled to find any consistency with their pitching staff and it has cost them too many games to get an at large invite.

Louisiana’s Southland conference programs have been up and down this year. NWST, Southeastern, McNeese, etc will need to win the conference tourney to get to a regional. It looks like a one bid league this year.

Southern is a nice surprise as they have righted the ship on the bluff. The Jaguars are playing some good ball and will be threat if they qualify as a 4 seed.

ULM and Grambling are kind of meh, although neither one of them are horrible. LSU has the rant so they mostly don’t participate in this thread. They are the one state school who is a lock for the postseason and will probably host.

Thanks for coming to my college baseball Ted talk

There's a solid chance they miss out but I wouldn't say "most likely." They should win the series vs Georgia State this weekend and then they face up with ULM on the final weekend. They definitely control their own destiny.

Our midweek starter with an ERA over 5 joined by our midweek relievers has held LSU to just four hits through 8 innings
